That is quite true, but I see Joey Essex as being uneducated which is rather different than being stupid. As for acting stupid, I think he knows exactly what he is doing!
Think there is a whole generation of kids who are really uneducated - which is an appalling indictment of our education system. These kids have been really let down - as many of them are not actually stupid and can apply themselves well in many situations - but they just leave school with so little basic knowledge.

I don't buy that at all.
He has based his career on being stupid.
You can't blame the Education system for him not knowing anything about anything. Like many before him Jade Goody etc, he has built his career around not knowing stuff.

He probably is clever enough and knows that playing dumb = big bucks for him.

Think Jade genuinely didn't know very much whilst Joey is a much smarter cookie and knows exactly what works ie playing dumb - but my point was there are many kids out there who actually don't know very much about anything. I wonder what on earth they have learnt in 11 years at school - when they still struggle with basic English or Maths, and their knowledge of Geography and History is often so bad.
