Are you really fallin' for Michelle?

Michelle seems to have this knack of maikin' you believe that she is the voice of the minorities? Oh please! Spare me the rhetoric chick! OK we can all go in there and plead for the gay's and WHATEVER cause we feel is a worthy cause! My contention is: Do the gay community really need anyone to plead their case? Come on! The gay community is doing just fine without anyone piggy backing on their situation! Old, and has been done before hunny!

My best friend died of HIV, so I am comin' from a place of sincerity. Go to a closed coffin funeral, and then tell me about gay rights. I sang at a charity in 1996 Redbird's the name, remember me! Hope you do!

Maybe it makes more sense in America.

I like to think in the UK we don't do the 'champions' business as much. I hate leaders - so I'm not keen on 'champions' either - self appointed or not.

Considering that Michelle grew up in the 80's New York ball scene (ala Paris is Burning) i'd imagine she knows a lot of people who died from AIDS.

It would. Have you ever been to the states? The race/class divides are so much more obvious there, i felt uncomfortable.

There are loads of threads about this subject. What's new about this one?

If you support a cause fair enough but bringing it into just about every conversation just gets monotonous. Makes it seem like she has just jumped on the gay bandwagon to be trendy!

I've only done Disney iris(h). It did seem a much more foreign country than our European neighbours. The common language thing is certainly misleading.

Funny you should say that. I used to live in the US (only for a year or two) and it was from that experience that I discovered there was such a thing as being European. To my great surprise I came to the conclusion I identified with that label..

I am referring to a cultural distinction more than a political or economic one. I found I had much more in common with other Europeans than I did with many Americans. This was despite sharing a language with the later and not always having a common language with the former.
