Emma Willis is to leave her role as main presenter of Celebrity Big Brother spin-off Bit On The Side after almost three and a half years, bbspy can confirm.

Tonight’s edition of the magazine show will be the last to be fronted by the 38-year-old, and Rylan Clark will take over with immediate effect.

Rylan is slated to host the remaining four episodes of the current series, and bbspy understands that he will become the sole presenter of BOTS when it returns alongside Big Brother’s sixteenth civilian run this summer.

However, Emma will continue to host the main show – including launches, evictions and finales – and it is expected that she’ll still make weekly guest appearances on BOTS.

No reason has been given for the move, though it is believed to be due to Emma’s workload, with her profile having skyrocketed since she became the face of the main show.

Just five months after she replaced Brian Dowling, BBC One hired her for The Voice UK – and last month the broadcaster announced that she will team up with Reggie Yates on new gameshow Prized Apart.

This story is developing – more details to follow…

If this is true could it be because she is having another baby??

It could also be because she struggles a bit with being impartial? or is that just me?

I like Emma, and to be honest I'm not much of a Rylan fan at all, but at least he seems able to talk impartially about people he likes or dislikes, Whereas Emma seems to struggle, and can't resist little digs and comments.

She could be wanting more time with her family, or got a job on Loose Women with her mate Nadia

Dreading BOTS tonight more now, it will probably turn into the Emma Show, with her best BOTS moments and stuff.

If somebody is leaving tonight, surprised Rylan isnt presenting anyway.
i perfer BOTS with Rylan anyway

I think it's about time. I don't mind Emma but I think once she took over as the host of the main show she should've stepped away from BOTS.

Plus all the extra shows Emma is involved with ... This Morning and stand-in host on Loose Women. I think she mentioned a radio show too with Matt Johnson. Busy lady.

Rylan wasn't great to begin with but he has got a bit better over time.

Hopefully the main shows will improve and not seem so rushed. An hour on eviction night isn't long enough and 90 mins of BOTS is too much.

Rylan is OK but it could be most improved if Emma took the audience with her when she goes.

I am surprised she is leaving now, there are only four evenings left after tonight.

Maybe the statement was a nice way of saying she has been pushed.

Maybe Viacom has noticed the shoe is getting stale

How is Rylan going to manager the whole summer stint, I thought he went over to soain, during the week when not hosting BOTS

I was told about this about a week ago but it was just speculation at the time - I'd imagine her quitting has something to do with her new TV show Reality Bites and the fact she seems pretty exhausted with Big Brother. Hopefully now she's just the main host she'll remain having passion for Big Brother and won't quit as the main host!

I know she felt the strain last Aummer, a couple of times on BOTS especially if she was with a Expert, she would say things like, ooh this is the last week, Get my life back to normal

It is a bit odd that Emma is not seeing the season out. Leaving with "immediate effect" just seems a bit strange to me. Did she say or do anything on the last BOTS that someone was offended by?

I'm not sorry she's going. All the squealing and effing and blinding she thinks is so funny.

The night they gave her a psychophantic show to congratulate her for 100 shows (I think) was just plain embarrassing not to say ridiculous.

She's gorgeous but I've never liked her presenting style.

I too had heard this last week and was'nt at all surprised. I think she's gotten really stale on bots and the forced laughter at every comment is just too much.

I'd thought when she took over the main show she would have stepped down from bots and it's a pity she did'nt. Now she's leaving and it seems well overdue.

I do think there is more to it than it seems, Immediate effect, being used than end of contrract, sounds dubivous.

Surely there wouldnt be a reason why she would finish the series.

Be interesting to ded if she leaves quitely or not

I was just reading an interview with her where she says it's hard dealing with her husband being away on tour because she met him after Busted had ended, so perhaps it's as a result of them having to re-jig their lives a bit.

"Matt is currently on tour with the super group, and Emma admits she finds it tough being apart.

"Not having your family together is hard. [With him away touring] it felt relentless and I’ve never had to deal with that before, because I met him when Busted ended. "

Why can't they just quit showing BBOTS

Its an awful show where both Emma and Rylan are awful - Rylan always makes the topic about him
