Tom Tom Go
I've just treated myself to a Tom Tom Go from Halfords - £157.99. During the process of setting it up I read that I will need a Smart phone to complete the set-up. I have a Samsung Galaxy which I assume is Android. Does this mean that I won't be able to use the Tom Tom?
If so, shouldn't the assistant have checked with me first?

It would've been cheaper to buy the Tom Tom app on Android!

Go into your phones Bluetooth menu, link it to the Tom-Tom like you would do with any Bluetooth device then turn on Bluetooth tethering, and you will then have live traffic showing on your satnav.
I use mine nearly every day with a 3-2-1, 3 PAYG sim that I topped up last spring with £10 and still have £4 credit so cost very little in Mb data as I use a old Android that is left in the car and has no other duty but to serve the Tom-Tom. |

Many thanks for your helpful replies. It seems I may not be very smart!
