Basically it's just a poem that has existed for many many years. It's a bit of a pointless letter then.

Did she amend it a bit? To fit him?

It was quite long and I couldn't keep track of whether it was the original.

Or did she just write out a poem? If so, has to be the funniest letter ever. What a lazy cow his Mum is

'If...' by Kipling.

I'm amazed so many of them thought it had genuinely been written by his mum.

'If'by Rudyard Kipling, a lovely poem, and quite funny that one of the housemates (can't work out who) actually thought Calum's mum had written it.

More than one of them, I thought there were a fair few different voices praising her.

It's a lovely poem by Rudyard Kipling. It's inspirational. I doubt Angie Best would want to share private thoughts on telly just for nasty people to tear apart online.

I would give the American's a bit of doubt but the British guys should all know it.

It's like taking the lyrics of some Elton John song, changing a couple of words, and thinking that'll do.

Ah I hadn't thought of that! Copying out a poem, especially one with such poignant words, is a way of her conveying her love to her son, yet not writing anything personal that can be held against her or him.

Or Kipling's love for her son.
