What with UKIP gaining popularity and Hopkins spiteful opinions being given a platform and actually applauded - I feel pretty sad/concerned about the forthcoming elections.
Do we not learn or take in anything from history?”
Well, my take on it is this. The BB audience is skewed from what it once was by the fact that Ch 5 have taken it in a different direction and meddle a lot more to create manufactured drama. They deliberately pick more extreme housemates, nicer and nastier, to ramp it up to the max. That attracts a kind of audience who thrive on that stuff and aren't representative of the wider population. Those of us who are still hanging on through the changes are left bewildered and drawing conclusions about the wider world, because we are in the main thoughtful and reflective people.
UKIP might have gained in popularity over the last year or two, but I don't think we have to worry about them, they are a bunch of losers and nutters and the whole edifice will collapse into chaos before very long.
