I've got it and think it's overrated. Yes it's snappy but the WiFi is poor lots of loading circles when running Apps. The screen is also a bit dodgy gets dirty very easily. The volume button is a pain (too small and not deep into the phone) I genuinely prefered my Star V chinese phone I had before. And the Motorola bloatware is a pain!
If you've made your choice fine, but I was disappointed after all the good reviews. |

Thanks Stiggles, I had a feeling someone had mentioned Tesco. Now ordered and picking up Thursday. Need it to replace my broken Wiko for my next trip to Kenya in 10 days time.

It'll be fine. It's not my main phone, I will only use it for travelling (Dual SIM) and when I'm at home it will be permanently assigned as a remote control for my Sonos speakers. But for that application I do need the battery half way decent.

The bloatware is background but you get asked for updates constantly. Maybe because my chinese phone had zero bloatware I notice it more. Nethertheless I stand by it being overrated.

![]() Its not over rated compared to the samsung i swapped it for ![]() For the price, its a bargain compared to the same price range of say a samsung, maybe most people dont want to take the risk you did with a chinese phone, what if it breaks, its a long way to return it, so take things into context, you have a right to think its over rated, but maybe you would agree that for the price range in the uk, it cant presently be beaten? |

You could send it back?
I rather thought it was the same as this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Motorola-5-I...eywords=moto+g That's why it seemed such a good price. I have now ordered the Amazon one |

Being asked to do updates isn't really down to bloatware. In recent weeks, Google seems to be updating its own apps pretty regularly. They already got the Material Design a while back, but there seem to be a number of updates/patches/fixes and goodness knows what else.
Sometimes there are new features. Google Docs recently got more functionality for example, and Chrome Beta gives some hints of more changes to come for the browser. Yes, a number of Motorola apps have been updated of late - but that's to be ready for Lollipop, which should be released for the Moto G (all models) and Moto E fairly soon. One issue some people have with the Moto G is the (unchangeable if not rooted) level at which some apps are terminated, which can mean the launcher restarts when it really shouldn't. Hopefully that will be fixed for those that don't want to go down the rooting/custom ROM road. |

With those prices for the 4G version, we can be sure that the updated version will soon be launched...

Yeah, I think it's pretty obvious a 4G version of the 5-inch Moto G will be released in due course.
Given how many sales Motorola got, and boosted it right up the manufacturer rankings, I am sure the Moto G formula will be re-used with something all-new later in the year too. However, I wouldn't necessarily wait until then as the price of the Moto G means you can invest today and hardly be massively out of pocket, especially as I'm sure you can sell it second hand for a fair price to put towards the next one. With Lollipop, it's now finally a lot easier to restore all your apps, shortcuts, widgets etc when changing from phone to phone. |

The 4g model has already launched in Brazil but it's significantly more expensive.

My Galaxy 2 is running out of steam, but I am waiting for the new Moto G 4G with its 5 inch screen, or the HTC Desire 620.....but despite both being talked about being released "soon" since last November, we're still waiting. |

Weirdest Moto G thread ever.
1st - JurassicMark - Claim your £16 back from Tesco Direct under the 28 day price promise. If you bought from their phone shop- sorry -Tesco direct only. 2nd - the Brazilian version is different from the one Argos had up, 16GB not 8GB, dual SIM, single LTE band, the Argos one called Titan with the price of £159.95, single SIM. 3rd - Kenya has no 4G yet. 4th - Bloatware - hardly. 5th - "loading circles when running Apps", the only thing I can think of is you have every app running at the same time. 6th - Wi-Fi seems OK to me. 7th - Updates - because it could have been sat on the shelf for a while, apps need updating, make sure it's set to update via Wi-Fi. Had mine about three weeks, only thing it needs is a decent 4G signal from Three.

I was only joking. It's alright I have already cancelled it.

I have now ordered the Amazon one Im getting the one you ordered from amazon I do like to physically see the phone before I buy, but none of my local shops sell it, one told me they thought id got mixed up with the moto g and then thought i was on about the moto g 4g, both are the smaller 4.5 inch screens.
