Calum is lucky that Perez mostly just verbally spars with him at Calum's schoolboy comprehension level of who's his "dude, "mate", "got your back" etc.
If Perez really went for it he could tie Calum in much worse knots. Or say things that went totally over the numbskull's head.
But that would be bullying, and someone else in the house has that part.

I think Perez can actually hold his own quite well.

Remember him nonchalantly eating spaghetti caused Calum to self combust!

PS. I always prefer not to look back, but just focus on the present - except in the case of Rula Lenska of-course !

Bad haircut is a waste of oxygen. He knows it too and that's why he's a simmering pot ready to boil.

Perez just rude he is disgusting. Calum lost his cool when provoked and used a foul word (shock horror).

So Perez has not been waaaaaaaaaay over the top these last few weeks with his vile obnoxious behaviour towards other housemates and his attention seeking antics in the garden and elsewhere in the house.

In the DR, he made me think he might be jealous of Perez hogging the limelight with a remark he made. He said something about who is Perez, like Calum's fame was so much more. Well, it may be but you ain't entertaining!

That said, I do like how natural Calum is...also mostly a very cool dude and very confident....some might say cocky!

Technically it's called The Seething Weasel.

I have to admit that although I'm not a fan of Calum or his "career", I do have an element of sympathy for him and an understanding of his sensitivity and simmering anger when you consider his upbringing and father. We're talking about Celebrity Big Brother here, but compared to someone like Georgie Best, who was an absolute icon (still is), these lot just look laughable.

Can you imagine standing in the shadows of the legacy of a man like that? Beyond that you have to remind yourself that the man was an alcoholic so Calum came from a broken home really, and I've seen first hand how these kind of dysfunctions can affect individuals. You put this all together, as well as his father's early death, and yeah, I can see why Calum is the way he is at times. Don't like or dislike the chap, but can understand certain aspects of him if that makes sense?

That's a very kind and considerate post CD - it reflects positively on you as a person.

However, there are many people in this world whose lives have been scarred by alcohol - directly or indirectly (or other substance abuse). However, they do not have such a self- entitled and arrogant attitude.

I struggle to find anything to like, respect, admire or empathise with him for.

I understand your stance completely; just kinda trying to figure him out, and the reality is that he's had to deal with his father's worldwide fame and legacy too, as well as all the rest concerning alcohol, dysfunction death etc. And Best is really a sporting icon. Huge icon, you know? We've all gone through alot, as I'm sure others in the house have, but I think that combination of events in his life has shaped Calum in a great many ways. That's all I'm saying.

It's an emotional barometer.

Here are some examples so you can learn the intricacies of Seething.

emotional distress: Someone said my plimsolls were out of date
minor seething: someone else uses the word "dude"
growing anger: first episode of The Perez Show
Confusion: Katie explains her plans to invade Poland
Rage: Armpitgate
despair: as he realises it has all "been taken away" from him

May your Weasel always seethe.

We all have our cross to bear.

Callum's actually been dealt quite a good hand cf. a lot of his peers across the planet.

Excuse me for mixing me metaphors...

True, and he has acted like a self absorbed prat and sheep in the house. No denying that here. But yeah, I just see moments of the scarred child in him sometimes, that's all. The whole "I'm a closed book" moment struck a chord with me. Things like that. But yeah, he's done himself no favours in that house.

Yes, I think he came in with the idea he would play "peacemaker" - foolishly thinking he could do anything to make peace between Katie H and Perez. There was nothing Callum could do; but by imposing himself between them he put himself in the firing line and lost any semblance of control over his own temper. He did it to himself; yet he blames Perez for it. Calllum has lost perspective; too bad.

Good points, and I think it all started from Perez questioning Katie about having sex with a married man. Think that's when Calum started to dislike him and choose sides to a certain extent. It was the first time I'd see much emotion in him but yeah, he has tried to be a blank canvas and peacemaker for the most part, although his nominations have told a different story, showing that he can be very easily led by other people's opinions. He did lose perspective, that's very true and I'm a person who really dislikes pack mentality rubbish like they've been practicing.
