So, we have an HTC Desire (model unknown).

Trying to top up via 4444 only the screen keypad doesn't come up so it's not possible.

Can't top up via voucher as we will have the same problem when needing to put the voucher details in and the person has no idea where the top up card to swipe is.

Online top up is an option but person has no idea what the login details are, so need to investigate.

Now, any ideas how we get the on screen keypad up again?

All it does is pop up - hold call. mute, add call, speaker and end call. Looks like a keypad at the bottom that you can bring up, but when you press it, nothing pops up.

You should be able to just press the button to bring up the keypad. If it's not coming up it might just be a system glitch.

If you haven't already, turn the phone off and on and try again.

If that doesn't work then you can try a master reset of the phone.

Hopefully it's a glitch.

Apparently it's been like this for about a week but i've just been told earlier today. She says it's been turned on and off a few times in the last week.

I've managed to top her up via the O2 web top up - easy enough, but would like the keypad back so she doesn't rely on me to top her up every time.
