Everybody is in the same boat coping with everybody else. That is the game. You're not signing up for a garden party at Buckingham Palace with everyone making pleasant small talk. I don't see how having empathy for one housemate precludes it for the others, although in your own mind there is clearly a problem with treating all fairly.
He signed up as well, don't feel sorry for him either. He did his 'job' predictably and unpleasantly. He's earned his money by making the house miserable for the others.

I've got better objects than Perez to be compassionate towards.

Am i the only one that looks at perez's time in the house and that interview and thinks he's probably bipolar and would/should have failed a psych check?

I was unsure throughout whether he was mentally unstable or playing a game, but after that i'm going with mentally unstable. If he wanted money/fame/opportunities he would have made an effort to make BB look good but he just tore into them during that interview.
They haven't given psychiatric tests to housemates ever since channel 5 took over.
He wouldn't have passed one if they had.

All my neighbours agree with me. I just texted everyone I know and they all agree too. I just saw a poll for Newsnight, yep, they all agreed too. I am certain I speak for many many people.
In a UK wide popularity contest (Big Brother), your man just came sixth out of seven people. which suggests he isn't very popular in this country.
Good heavens, I can't imagine what all my neighbours think about anything, let alone their views about a housemate in a TV reality show. I'd hope they had a cross-section of views, being people not sheeple. But you speak for the Great British Sheeple.

I'm not labelling him in order to justify him or somehow feel sorry for him.

He's a fully functioning person who has made money by being unpleasant for years.

Some people really are horrible pains in the arse and I don't think he finds his 'job' too hard.
That doesn't dodge the issue of BB being lax with putting in people that are mentally unstable just to get explosive arguments and erratic behaviour.

I have no doubt in my mind he's a horrible person and hated every second he was on the tv, i'm just trying to point out that he comes across as a total nutcase as well.

Melax - that's what i was thinking, i wasn't sure when exactly they stopped doing them but i find it really uncomfortable to watch.

He would be daft enough to do it well the public mght sue him for the trauma we haveendured I am pleased we can now enjoy the final
America he is coming home
And what a thoroughly boring final that will be. I'd already made plans to go out on Friday night and was going to record CBB - I needn't bother now I suppose - I can also go out tomorrow night as well now! Yippee! Thanks Perez. And as everyone is supposed to hate you - lets hope you've put a pox on that useless moron Calumine!

You are qualified to judge then? No.

There is no chance you are wrong? Yes.

Perez DOES explosive arguments for a living. That's his shtick. Take it into account.

I have never admitted to my neighbours or even some friends that I'm a BB addict.

At New Year our neighbours came in and we were talking about Mastermind - I said my specialist subject would be Big Brother - they nearly wet themselves laughing - thought it was very witty

Qualified? Depends on what qualifications i need. I understand mental disorders, if that counts for anything.

Of course there is a chance i'm wrong, that's why i put the word 'thinks'. I didn't say i know, because i don't.

Ask yourself who would choose to do that for a living?

I'm not really sure what angle you're coming from. do you believe him to be completely mentally stable?

I'm coming from the angle that 'mentally unstable' is constantly bandied about and also used as an excuse.

I'm also coming from the angle that we are ALL a bit nuts anyway.

He's functioning, he's INVESTED in acting how he does, that's his JOB. I'm not prepared to say he's 'mentally unstable' so easily as some.

And people choose to do and be all sorts of things, and they aren't necessarily 'unstable' either, anymore than a lot of us.

I think it's a possiblility!!! Trouble is Emma made the mistake of saying sorry if we traumatised you but you were one of our best housemates ever - I think he will use that and I think BB may have his lawyers on the phone pretty soon lol!

I think he might sue as well, probably get a settlement and we won't find out though.

Yeah, like Nadia was only friends with Mark Bannerman.

Though Perez is gay - but that wouldn't stop her.
What a silly comment

If he was 'traumatised' he wouldn't have had the energy to threaten to rape a guy on the show. And what an insult to all of us, including our servicemen, who really have been traumatised in life.
He didn't threaten to rape anybody

You contradict yourself. Were all a bit nuts? That in itself would suggest it would be easy to go from a bit nuts to full on nuts.

Just get rid of him as quickly as possible. I'll pay for his plane ticket. Crap interview. Go, you're not welcome here.
Actually he WAS welcome to many here - he provided great entertainment if nothing else

Ooooooooooooh - I so hope he sues Hopkins for bullying in the workplace

I believe him when he says he was traumatised - I know others think it's an act - I don't.

He only wanted to have a bit of fun
Absolutely. Those who dislike are not interested anyway in detecting genuine feeling from him...far easier just to diss the guy.

It was an empty threat designed to rile Calum and had the desired effect.

Trauma is relative, i.e. does not have to be compared to anyone else's trauma...it's not a damn competition!

Well, try reading some threads here. Even though many may dislike the guy he provided great entertainment and ranks as being one of the best HM....Emma said so!! Also check out his appreciation thread (at top of main page).

Souls don't exist. They were invented as part of a religion which was also invented.
Atheism for the win.
Hmmm I wouldn't be so sure about that!
