I think what Perez said may have just killed BB forever for hardcore fans

Across the years of BB, we have always had the ideas that some things were tweaked on BB... eg. tasks to create conflict, etc... but I think what Perez said on BOTS has killed BB for all those people who have watched for years (before Ch5).

Rylan must feel a little embarrassed for saying "go on then" to Perez' "Do you want to know the actual truth?". Looking on Twitter, I can see a bunch of BB fan websites have closed down due to what was revealed, and a lot of people are not happy.

Oh dear! I knew Perez would have been convinced to stay, but never knew that it would actually be confirmed.

Also, here's a question... when Perez said this, we heard a lot of boos from people. Was it just me or have a feeling that some of them didn't come from the audience, I have a feeling that came from behind the scenes? There will be a lot of people in trouble tonight.

I've been out tonight and missed tonight's show. Does anyone have a clip?

Now we know the truth. Out of the mouths of babes and all that. They milked a traumatised Perez for the last drop.

I don't know... I think because it came from Perez too many people will rationalise it as him lying or attention seeking.

Had it come from someone a bit more reliable, then I think it would have a bigger effect.

((APPLAUSE)) For Salv.

Absolutely right.

Disappointing for the BB purists

Its a bit like a guy who wears M&S enhancement Y Fronts, leaving the woman very excited with anticipation. then the pants come off.....

Maybe Perez might be sued by BB production for revealing that HMs are just BB puppets in a muppet show

At first I thought it was possible that he might have been making it up....but then he said the producer guy told him that it had been the most watched Big Brother in years.
Which is information he could have only got from outside.

I have absolutely no idea what he was booed for saying what he did.
Was it because people were angry that he destroyed the illusion they want to believe so much in?

What did he say that you think may have killed BB for fans?

Yup the boo's seemed rather pronounced to make it seem like Perez was lying. I don't think hardcore fans will leave. Some of us have been hardcore for years and we know the score. I haven't voted since series 5 and won't do ever again. I do however love to watch it to see how the script pans out and I do enjoy the fervour of the fans on here. My comments here are never that passionate nowadays as I really do believe the Producers decide the outcome in the end not the public since Live Feed finished. If 24 hour LF came back I may invest more energy into the show again as that may restore my faith again

Hadn't Perez been outside by the time he said that?

They milked the guy to stay because they knew his antics were boosting the ratings, and tonight they threw him to the mob. Disgusting behaviour from the show's producers.

I don't see the problem.

He wanted to walk - they talked him into staying - surely it's happened countless times before.

Are we really that naïve?

I didn't see BBOTS so forgive me for asking but does this mean or possibly suggest that the producers might have also had a hand in convincing or arranging for Alex to leave in order to make sure Perez didn't go?

Even if you dislike Perez, I think anyone not believing what he said would be foolish. It was obvious at the time, but like I said, I'm surprised we actually found out the truth.

Also, Rylan's face said it all. You don't react like regarding something false being said. He genuinely was lost for words.

I don't really know either.

HM comes in crying, moaning and threatening to leave. BB say they're great, people love 'em and please stay, and they do.

The only extra thing is that Perez talked about BB saying that he has made the show, and got the ratings.

That ain't great, but the first scenario I think is very common in all BBs.

He said that the producers persuaded him to stay. They always try to persuade housemates who want to leave to sleep on it and come back to discuss it the next morning. Perez has history on embellishing actual facts so I doubt he was treated any differently to any other housemates. He said the producers told him he had to stay as it was "the Perez show" - I don't really believe they said that.

I have loved this show since i was 10 years old, it has been in my life longer than i have been without it. But i don't think i can support it in the same way anymore. We as viewers are being messed about with too much now, i refuse to be made to look like a mug anymore. I think i will just try and watch it casually now and not get so attached to it.

I had hoped that that survey they did meant that they were finally willing to listen to the fans, but i am seeing nothing different with the show at all.

The show has been butchered since the move to channel 5.

Most BB fans know the show is fake and scripted. The ones that have already accepted this will probably continue to watch.

Lets be honest here, anyone that thinks this is a 'real' show (even before what perez said) probably don't have too many brain cells and will watch anything anyway. And will continue to vote on a fake show.

I agree it would be foolish, but let's not kid ourselves that some people don't like to hear the truth when they're invested in something (or that the BB fandom is free of fools )

Back in BB11 when Caoimhe was going to leave with Shabby didn't it come out that she stayed at the time because she was told in the DR that her boyfriend was okay with everything and wanted her to stay? I am pretty sure execs have bent a few rules in the past to convince people to stay, big characters anyway.

I've suspected for a long time (long before this series) that there is a lot going on in the Diary Room that we don't know about. We don't really know what is being said and to whom but there's obviously a lot of stuff going on that we never get to see.

He could have gleaned that snippet from someone between the end of the HL and BOTS starting. Or even from the task today where it seems they were given plenty of information about how they were being perceived.

How did Perez know it was the highest rated series in years (which it is) then?

It really wouldn't
when they messed up and production were in the house numerous times they laughed it off. "oh it was this and that", Rarely it would happen in the C4 days only when something major had occurred. The entire concept as we saw yesterday flooding the house with outside information its basically mutated the format into Reality Soap.

this entire series has been about conflict they saw the ratings provide Channel 5 with some of its best numbers they wanted more and they wanted it sustained. A lot of us were talking on Twitter few weeks ago and I suspect get ready for all the information
Perez wont care he will be back in the USA. And no doubt they will dismiss everything again.

It become clear few weeks ago the Cost issue was never the real reason the feed didn't return (that came directly from the boss of the show), The level of control they have over everything is just unreal. but again we saw tonight Emma being stumped when an Evicted HM asked had they seen the footage after the event she hadn't and that entire line of Questioning died on the spot.

I hope actually Emma drops this show and gets a better Gig because until the producers realise this isn't reality soap this setup is just going to keep exposing the current farce of the format which only they (endemol) can change by Telling Channel 5 enough is enough.

the summer series will be filled with the same people as last year and it will drag itself to a crap winner again who producers will deem "amazing" like they did about last years winner.

I think it was just the fact of what he said, and what a big deal he made out of it.

It is par for the course, you're right, but I do think producers possibly telling him he's had an impact on ratings is a step too far (but then again, it's not surprising these days!)

That's fine if it was just a casual, "we think you should sleep on it, can we convince you to stay?!" but the way Perez said it, made it seem that they went out of their way to go behind the scenes and talk him out of it. He knew the guys name, it's odd that a producer would have just said his name whilst in a conversation in the DR trying to get him to stay. By knowing his name, one would think they actually had a face to face meeting, where he also said "this is the highest rated BB on Ch5, it's the Perez show, you must stay".
