this has become.

The entire premise now seems to be less about who wins as who can we tear to pieces. Awful behaviour is rewarded and being pleasant is condemned. The world has been turned upside down. And the forum members here are sadly just as bad with each other.

If anyone of any talent or worth were daft enough to subject themselves to this charade, they would either be evicted in the early stages or ultimately be beaten by a talentless nonentity who is making money be merely being famous or a contrarian but has the savvy to sell their soul to keep their faces in the rags that support them.

If truth be told it's a sad state of affairs.

Now I'll have the non-intelligentsia railing...

Its the same with society itself though as well from my experience. Its like everything has turned nastier since the rise of Twitter and Facebook. Like how being nice or not wanting to get involved with arguments is now seen as a negative or having a game plan etc.

Hard trying to cram everything he deserved throughout the whole series into one BOTS

They didn't do bad though

Good on Luisa and co.

The chanting against Perez was shocking, I don't think even Makosi got as bad a reception as that (and her treatment was considered very controversial at the time).

Say what you like about Perez, but he was never as rude and ignorant as that mob.

I wouldn't put FM's in the same category as that house, it was almost like the prelude to Game of Thrones!

I thought there should have been someone on that panel that appreciated his entertainment value. At least Emma said he has been one of the best HM they have ever had.

Agreed. He wasn't, he responded with narkiness, but not with the vitriol Hopkins did.

A few people are blaming Perez but I believe it was a toxic combination, Hopkins leading them and they were all too scared not to follow her.

Michelle could have been the one person to stop her, but she chose to collude instead, such a shame IMO.

I thought Luisa was a total shambles tonight, she refused to shake his hand then went on to say he was entertaining!

She was so humble towards the end, even if the producers had had a word in her ear she should at least have had the conviction to follow her opinion through.

They heard the cheers for Katie and the boos for Perez and that swayed them (seeing as they went in there to be loved and to go as far as possible on the show).

I don't think it's necessarily much to do with twitter or Facebook. I think it's more to do with the national mood being more selfish and individualistic. I'm sure someone much cleverer than me could write a paper on how the nastiness of the show is symbiotic with the nastiness in society is symbiotic with the rise of the right wing such as the more objectionable Tories and UKIP etc. and, probably, how this is all linked to recessions/austerity/blame-culture etc. We're going through a bit of an 80s revival for sure.

Some very interesting and valid points. Twitter and Facebook of course have given those with a chip on their shoulder the platform to vent their spleen : a platform they never had before.

I agree Joni in the most part but some of the FM's here really do go for the jugular at times. The invective used by some to "protect" their favourites is bloody baffling at times.

Everyone has a 'voice' now though with the rise of Twitter and Facebook. I have seen some god awful and disgusting stuff written on both sites.
Both sites are also now being blamed for the 'i'm offended by that' culture that has really blown up over the last few years.

Probably the same people who believe Nigel Fartage could run the country.

I'd love to see them consider this if he had to front a military campaign, run the NHS or juggle Council cuts. They could well be the same who think Hopkins would make a good PM.

Yeah. I think they're just the medium of expression though - distribution is easier so the volume is louder but I'm not sure they've actually had any effect on the sentiments being expressed. It's just that expression is more public than ever, rather than contained in pockets in pubs/offices/playgrounds etc.

The two sites are marvellous tools but for the first time ever, every creep and crank in the country has a platform to air their bile (and these types are usually louder than everyone else with their vitriol).

Ah, the good old days JC

I loved Nadia, still do, but didn't bat on about her like she was holier than thou, I also liked Perez (for entertainment purposes) but again, wasn't prepared to defend him. I just wanted a good series but by 'eck it's been hard this time round

I would be elated if either Keith or Katie P take the crown, and Keith has the added addition to having Win in his surname

I find it all as verbose as Russell Brand.

I would love to believe that and maybe in past Big Brother's it was just that, but i don't think it is anymore. Look at the things people say on Twitter, they are sick and twisted. Those kind of people a definitely the type that go to these eviction shows.

Well to be fair to Farage I suppose once Cameron and Osborne have finished there won't be an NHS left to run, and we won't have much of a military left. There'll be no state left so whoever 'runs' it will become an irrelevance. We'll be atom-less electrons bouncing around at the mercy of corporations and the free-market

I need to go to bed, I've just depressed the f*** out of myself

True, but they'll probably forget all about the show in a weeks time.

Twitter, Facebook and Youtube. These places are home to the worst kind of comments on the Internet and Big Brother works through all 3 of them. Social media hasn't just ruined Big Brother, it is ruining people in general.

These days people are even being jailed for their comments on Twitter (quite rightly IMO).
