Tesco Finest Meal Deal

Where's the wine?

In my local store (the main one in my town), you don't get wine anymore, only bottles of coke.
Is this the same everywhere or do we have a problem with our store?

The wine is rank anyway and I never buy it but I was just interested to see if it's just my store.

Think its just your store as the wine is with the meal deal at my nearest Tesco and alongside them the packs of Coke and another non alcoholic alternative. Personally think the wine selection at least in my store is pretty decent, in particular the Rose but then Im not a total snob when it comes to wine and don't need it to be all singing all dancing as long as it tastes ok fine by me. Not something I buy often as its expensive for what it is but makes a nice treat occasionally.

It's the same in mine. No wine anymore just coke, diet coke or appletizer.

they still do it online so you should still be able to get it instore. I think maybe they're just not allowed to advertise as much (as in advertise the alcohol!)

Main Tesco in Gateshead still have the full range of wines with the £10 deals. I don't buy them myself but they look decent value especially if you are buying a bottle of wine anyway.

Our large Tesco has wine with them, but our smaller one in the village doesn't. I have no idea if it's nice or not as it's too expensive for us and we don't drink but it looks OK.

Surely if you don't drink then cost is irrelevant?

No I meant the entire meal idea was too expensive a £10 meal for 2 is half my weekly budget for 2 adults 1 child and 2 dogs.
They look nice though and you can get a soft drink option so if we could afford it we may be tempted.

What annoys me in our local Tesco is they put the red wine from the £10 meal deal in the chiller along with the white, and the non alcoholic alternatives, meaning that I then have to wait for the wine to reach room temperature again before I can have it.. annoying!

All of the red wine? Some red wine is best served chilled, but not much of it.

No, just the red wine included in the meal deal. The other red wine is stored on regular shelves.

Some beaujolais is very good when chilled lightly but the stuff they sell with the Tesco Finest Meal Deal isn't great when it is too cold. The white Rioja though, is very good.
