Hairdressers for one contestant, spray tans for another do we really think no conversations took place ? every year people are persuaded to stay I am sure but only Perez has been honest enough to tell the audience about it.
I seem to also recall someone , might have been Rylan being allowed out to do a show ..

Yes he was and no one can convince me they are not getting outside information.

Don't understand the fuss. They said what they had to say to convince him to stay, same as they would have done with every other housemate in the past who has threatened to walk.

So Perez thinks that he's the only housemate in the history of BB that has been cajoled into staying after they have said they want to leave??? Rewind.. I've lost count of the ones who have been told to 'sleep on it' 'talk it over with someone close to you' 'see how you feel later today' And I don't seriously believe he ever wanted to leave, he had just hit a point where his stupid antics were being ignored and the public and forums were so against him that maybe BB did the only thing they could to rescue the show and gave him a time-out.
Unfortunately, it backfired and he came back and embellished what he'd seen to cause more upset. Yes I voted. first time in years that I have and I figured a vote for kav would be wasted, also I figured Hopkins and Pricey would be safe so I voted for Callum and Keith. Seems like the Perez camp forgot to pick up the phone or he has been near the bottom in actual votes for a few weeks. Either way. he's gone before the final and I can now watch without the FF button again. (sorry Rylan but I may have to use in on your show)
Hopefully he will now fade back into the mire he came from and we have seen the last of him on British tv.
Bib - no I don't think he thought that at all. Rylan asked him why he didn't walk and Perez gave him his reason, which was that one of the BB people had told him not to walk as the show was actually "the Perez show". I'm not particularly bothered that he was voted out but I do think he was merely explaining himself.

All he says in the clip is "someone from production".

So where did people get the idea that he named a producer?

And where do people get the idea that this is the first time we knew someone was persuaded to stay?

Note, btw, that there was plenty of time for him to find out about the viewing figures between the time he was evicted and the time he was interviewed by Rylan. So it's not proof that he was telling the truth.

There will have been a producer or director in the production suite conveying a message to the floor-manager to get the audience to boo in order to shut down and discredit what Perez was saying. We all knew Perez was persuaded to stay when they came up with the secret room task but it is nice to finally get someone to cut through the bullshit and say it for once. I wonder if they are frantically offering him more money to keep quiet on the backstage stuff from now on?
Well said! The truth is out!! I love that Perez exposed them.

If they were so keen to keep him there they could have done something about the air conditioning vent above his bed that caused him problematic sleep, e.g. swop his bed over to someone else? He complained about it enough times...or was it that they knew that sleep deprivation made him act more manically so that is what they wanted? If so, sadistic!

It seemed that he became their prized captive performing monkey and he danced to their tune even though he was suffering...quite uncomfortable to even think about.

I think the fuss is caused by something else. As I said in one of the numerous other threads, I think it would be mostly different people who were complaining if Perez had won and only then talked about how BB had persuaded him to stay. Then it would be mostly people who disliked Perez who were up in arms about the manipulation and so on.

But now it seems to be mostly people who don't like him being evicted, or think he was treated badly by the show (as in used and then discarded), don't like how much he was booed, or the way he was interviewed, and so on. I think that dissatisfaction may be what makes what he said about being persuaded seem more significant and more like it discredits the show. (Some even seem to see revealing it as some sort of triumph for Perez.)

I think this is one of the times when things make more sense "backwards". Rather than the reasons people give being that caused the reaction, the reaction came first, and the reasons are more like post hoc rationalisations. (That doesn't mean they're not genuinely efforts to explain.)

I don't think Perez is even the only one who one who's told the audience about things that were said or done to try to persuade them. But the telling wasn't thought to be a huge thing before, so most people haven't remembered.

Instead, they were annoyed, if at all, by what BB did. The equivalent now would be if all these threads were outraged that BB had created a fake-walk twist for Perez that had let him spy on other HMs. But they're not. Instead, they're seeing Perez as if he were some kind of hero for exposing the nefarious producers -- even though he'd gone along with it rather than expose them then, which might have deservedly been a big deal -- or they're treating it as if it were a huge, unprecedented revelation that utterly discredits the producers or the show.

I think it was Nadia who said she had asked to leave early on but was persuaded to the stay. Where is the fuss about that?

I think its naive to think these HM are having no contact with production people. We just dont see it obviously. It was so obvious what he said last night was true. One minute he was ranting to go home and next given the secret task. The only thing the show is legally obliged to do is be honest about the voting as that would be fraud as people are paying. However manipulating perceptions, bias and interference from production to influence the voting seems part and parcel of the show now. If you dont like it stop watching or just dont vote.

Why is everyone surprised what Perez said last nite, we all said at the time it was the reason why BB gave Perez the secret room task to keep him in the house.
Without Live Feed we don't know the time span of when Perez entered the DR & walking into the Secret Room.
My guess is it was a good few house, enough time for them to set up the secret room .... I doubt very much if they had planned this task for this series, just a desperate attempt to keep Perez in the house.

That week Perez was immuned from Eviction.
Then we the viewers were given the choice eternally up for eviction or Golden Pass to the Final. Majority chose the former. But, this meant other HMs would need to find someone else to nominate. This meant at least one other HM would be up for eviction each week which would have lessen the chances of Perez being voted out.

This is no longer Big Brother, just another scripted reality show ..... The Real Big Brother died years ago.

I'm not surprised by the details of Perez's revelation and doubt that anyone is. Even if BB hadn't moved so far away from the show originally was it's clear the programme makers are going to do whatever to make it the best show possible with as large viewing figures as possible and if that means cajoling hissy fit stars into staying or encouraging others to walk then so be it. However, it is good to hear it actually confirmed from someone involved and I think it's that which is causing the excitement.

I loved Perez and am gutted he's gone but now having that confirmed I wish they had just let him go. I never felt comfortable with the secret room task at it came from nowhere and seemed very contrived. I always thought I'd missed an episode or something so maybe it was actually that which was the meddling and getting him to stay.

It would have been better if he'd been allowed to run his course naturally. At least, I think it proves that meddling doesn't work, in that I don't feel Perez lovers or haters feel very satisfied with this.

So we had FM's up in arms saying BB are keeping him in the show because he was given the secret room task. Now that Perez has confirmed it, it's all of a sudden BS!!

Some people need to make their minds up

They let Hopkins do her weekly column so 'the rules' is just a joke.
They let katie price get her hair every 2 days, and i bet he's filled her in on a bit of gossip..that's another joke.

We were shown a clip of a video of Perez in the DR screaming & swearing to be let out of the house right now! We were not shown (to my knowledge) the usual " go sleep on it" tactic. And I also thought it was odd how Alex just disappeared, both Ken & Jeremy were both seen in the DR being asked to leave. I think Perez has just confirmed what many viewers were already thinking.

The walkers of the past got a coaxing in the DR to sleep on it as we know it's a pain in the butt for the producers to arrange it.... ( as has been said by Davina / Brian / Emma )

They didn't get a secret room with access all areas to the house mates.

I for one believe he was more than coaxed to stay, and for the simple reason he had the ratings at it's highest ever.

We have all said it for years far to much interference from the producers.

Lets all stop pretending that what Perez said isn't true,

I believe every word he said & think bb really need to be very careful before calling anyone a Liar. This could snowball & no one knows where it will stop.

Its clear every night of bots how favoured certain housemates are, Like Keith, Katie P Calum, Its not a coincidence Rylan is Katie P besty mate & is in line for the "big surprise win" Perez might be a lot of things but we also have to be honest with ourselves because the only people we are fooling is ourselves!

I am sorry Perez hasn't made the final instead we are left with the usual borefest of a final!

I can't watch this clip but I saw CBBBOTS last night and Perez said he could give names, "do you want me to name names?" a couple of times, or something along those lines.
