Well I'll tell you - he did it because BB wouldn't let him into the diary room so he thought that if he annoyed other HMs by coughing he would be called into the diary room.

It was a much calmer Perez than the one we're presented with on the highlights show. Because he wasn't surrounded by a baying mob and people hurling abuse at him he was able to focus and share some stories. It helped enormously having Nadia there too, she's been out of the house longer and was able to keep his stories on track and inform him about bits we hadn't seen. It was really good and I sorely wish everyone got this kind of interview after they are evicted. Of course it reveals far too much about the production so channel 5 would never go for it. Why place people in a friendly room and listen to them when you can boo them and liken them to a murderer! We wouldn't want them spilling secrets and spoiling the panto.

He comes across as such a grounded, genuine guy here and it was really interesting to hear about all the things we as viewers didn't get to see. How he and Nadia got booed and Hopkins gets cheered, I'm afraid I'll never understand.

He's this year's real winner as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks for that. I always thought that the 'housemates' could just go into the diary room if they felt like talking, complaining, etc. Just shows how BB manipulate things. Still does not excuse him for doing what he did though in my opinion.

It was the early hours - apparently the blinds are down and the doors are locked - Nada said something about some of them having panic attacks. I think there is a button in the toilet - he said he'd pressed the button a number of times and spoken into his microphone asking to be let into the diary room (20 mins in all). the coughing was a last ditch attempt.

Well, I have a theory. It occurred after Perez went to the DR and pleaded with BB to do something about the air conditioning vent above his bed that was making him feel ill. Nothing was done and Alex's bed is the furthest away from his bed.....
