Tabs 8.4 samsung tablet - 4G. which sim to use as phone

Hello

I am about to buy the Tabs 8.4 samsung tablet - 4G.
The manual says ( page 72 etc ) that phone calls can be made from it.
I intend to use pay as you go - not monthly.
I understand that "deals" offer tablet data sims, but I am concerned that these will not allow the phone to be used.
Thinking this way on the basis that "phone " sims offer, minutes, texts and data.
Am I right in thinking i should buy "phone" sims, or will they not work with tablets?
Please don't discuss Side Sync. My present phones provider O2 does not provide cover where i want to use the tablet; EE does and so it is their sims I would use. If the tablet can do so.

Ideally, I'd like a galaxy tab s tablet owner who uses the phone facility to reply and confirm which sim they use.

Thanks for reading

Just get a standard PAYG 'phone' SIM with a data plan.

You might do well to get a plan with a good data allowance even if the number of minutes is low, because you can always use Skype or similar to make calls normally, and save you precious minutes for use when you are not wifi connected.

Thanks for the replies so far- (still hoping to hear from a Galaxy tab S user)

I appreciate the advice given. I already have an O2 phone but it doesn't work at a particular country location, whereas EE apparently does.
So, when choosing the new tablet, on which i wanted to have 3G/4G data coverage, I saw that the Galaxy tab S could be used as a phone
So it made sense to get an EE sim to enable calls from this country location.
It seems there are sims for phones and sims for tablets.
My concern is that the latter wouldn't give me the phone use I want, and i don't know for sure whether the phone sims would work with the tablet

Hence the post - and of course the best answer would be from a Tab S user who uses the phone facility.

I appreciate that Skype and Wi Fi are available ( and both would be used, of course )

Thanks again for your time and assistance.
