If posting this is against any forum rule, I do apologize.

Carl Magnus Palm is looking to update and expand his 1994 book 'ABBA The Complete Recording Sessions'
A Kickstarter campain has started to raise the funds for the project. Updated information and sample pages can be found on his website:

I always wondered why a lot of unreleased stuff was never released or even demos and alternate mixes. LIke a lot of DJS and producers always wondered why access to master tapes were always denied, why no official instrumentals and acapellas were released. It seems like everything is under lock and key when after all these years of buying the albums over and over and they have been remastered so many times, they could open the door to a whole new world with their music and let fans in and hear this stuff. it doesn't deserve to be locked away forever and ever and what happens when the band aren't here anymore? They should celebrate their music and if this book can give us a deeper look inside the music then that is a great thing. It would good for instance if some kind of record was made. One of my favourite songs for instance is Angel Eyes. Not a big single by any means, rarely even makes it onto a Greatest Hits album but I'd love to know about different versions of that song or demos or alternate mixes or maybe there's different lead vocals or different lyrics or maybe even different music.

Well I know Carl Magnus has a lot of tapes to go through, and we'll finally get to know about pretty much everything ABBA recorded, including all of the alternate mixes, some of which were used for TV promo. It's going to be utterly fascinating but there's still a long way to go for the funding campaign...

The November 2016 date put me off first time - for a updated reprint??

The 2016 date is because the author needs to do more research: he's been given permission by Benny and Bjorn to listen to EVERY tape in the archive so that he can put as much detail as possible into the book. That's every multitrack, every demo or rehearsal tape, every alternate take and mix. So there are a lot of tapes to listen too. On top of that he plans to do many more interviews.

If this book gets published it will be stunning, along the lines of the Beatles Complete Recording Sessions by Mark Lewisohn, who incidentally has given his backing to this project on his Twitter account.
