She's only involved in filming the run as far as I'm aware - a 12 week run that is probably filmed in 3 or 4 weeks.

Whatever, she's booked for something for the next three months. I doubt it's just a tour of provincial UK gay clubs.

It's about people attempting to take their cats for a walk on leads. The prize for the most dragged cat is a lifetime supply of Kitty Litter and a diamante collar

The UK could use some Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent

Michelle FTW

Wouldn't say it was bribery because it would only be fans of her and the drag race show that would be encouraged to pick up the phone anyway. I guess it would be a sign to him that it would be popular enough over here to make a UK version.

To be honest, I am quite sure a UK version is happening anyway. RuPaul and Jonathon Ross have been in talks for a while about it. This is just a stunt to try and gain more votes. I really can't see Michelle winning, although I really want her to. And who knows what her social media presence will do, it worked in getting her to the final night ahead of Perez.

Only have to wait until March 2nd for the new season of Drag Race to see her again and then we'll probably have the UK version later in the year to look forward to also.

Hehe

I'll take the time for An Thro as I know you're one of the few here with any sense..

RuPauls Drag Race is a Drag Queen version of 'elimination' shows like 'next top model' etc.

sounds dreadful I know

My wife got me to watch it, I didn't want to, uber-loud Drag Queens and all

But.. I was genuinely surprised how much I liked it, RuPaul is one of those 'once every so often' types, a media genius with an amazing fortitued, surprisingly wise and an incredible sense of warmth, humour and grounding

The show gets under the make-up/frocks and hits a nerve, all my initial worries were soon replaced by an incredible sense of warmth and trust and I was soon hooked - not on the format/glitz etc. - but on how interesting it was to see how these guys tick and how 'Ru' reaches inside them and draws out honesty

A definite eye-opener which - although I have no desire to be involved with - left me feeling richer for observing

I'd even urge those who think they hate all that stuff to try it, there's nothing better than seeing some small-town Diva getting a heap of truth thrust in their face by a bigger better Diva who's been there/seen it all, strangely theraputic (especially for the contestants)

It's all on NF

Are people still interested in "drag"?

It's so "Madame JoJo's/Gillespies" 90s.

As for Michelle. She truly does not deserve to win. She has done or said nothing of any interest whatsoever. Unless one thinks being Katie Hopkins lapdog is an achievement.

Would people really be that dim to believe him? As has been said earlier, it's either in the pipeline or not.
I'd never heard of Michelle before she went in to BB, neither had a lot of people (not one person I know knew who she was before she entered the house) so regardless of whether she wins or not, her profile has been bumped up tremendously. Why would her winning make a difference?
IMO the only reason RuPaul has said that is so people will vote for her to win. Manipulation pure and simple.

Netflix.

I would second HonestLee's suggestion that's it's well worth watching. I was made to watch it by my housemate thinking I'd hate it, but it genuinely had me laughing out loud consistently. After finishing the last series I immediately caught up on the two previous ones.

However, that does not mean Michelle should win CBB. I really wanted to like her but she's still, ultimately, a complete hypocrite.

Jonathan Ross, one of the biggest names in the UK has been trying to get Drag Race on our TV screens for quite a while now. If someone like him can't get a channel to listen, I don't see how Michelle winning Celebrity Big Brother is going to make any difference.

'Team Michelle' - her husband, Ru Paul, etc are pulling out every last trick in the book to hand her the crown on a silver platter which doesn't actually surprise me, considering Michelle pulls out the LGBT card every time she thinks it'll get her a vote or two.

This is great news. I see myself as a blokey sort of bloke and I absolutely love watching things like car racing. So this is something I'm really looking forward to. It sounds like it's right up my street.

I don't think a UK version of the show would work. The drag queens over here aren't as outrageous and as crazy as the ones in the U.S. I know quite a lot of drag queens from the gay scene and they've brought the subject up a number of times, and they've said the same thing, that it wouldn't work. The UK drag queens are different to those in the U.S.

Michelle is booked for the battle of the seasons tour which explains why she won't be in the US until May

Gosh thank you, I am obliged to you Sir, It seems I may have underestimated the nature of the show. Appreciate the response.

Is there an existing sterotype that all gay men are performing drag queens, if that's what your inferring? We must run in different social circles.

Perhaps a lesson has been learnt about not jumping to unsubstantiated conclusions about things you know nothing about in order to attempt to appear funny and clever?

But yes, Drag Race is a warm, emotionally affecting, deeply humorous, tongue in cheek, deconstructed reality experience which shows an insight into a world many know nothing about (although this doesn't stop them casting aspersions, unfortunately). Rupaul is an inspirational man, full of enlightened insightfulness and pearls of wisdom, who isn't afraid to challenge less evolved queens bad behaviour.

A UK version of this wonderful show would be a boon to our culture.

If you had read any of that poster's previous posts you would know that what you have written above is completely untrue and grossly unfair.

Perhaps you could take your own advice.
