I can't abide Perez but must admit I would find it difficult to come up with many instances where his actions outwardly seem overly nasty or cruel- and that's part of the reason he's such a detestable character for me. He's incredibly good at manipulating situations and is very clever in this respect. He can goad people very well and get a rise out of them, ensuring they are the ones to look bad in the fallout.
The instance with Alexander is a perfect example. Perez hides behind the fact he's 'being silly and fun' and cleverly avoids, for the most part, doing anything that is actually nasty or mean in any real sense. Obviously smiling/blowing kisses at someone is ostensibly an innocent act, but in context of the situation he was deliberately provoking and taunting a man he had already massively wound up. He then readily claimed to be offended and frightened when it suited him, meaning that he came across as the wounded party. He prides himself on being honest and 'owning' everything and plays the innocent, knowing full well that he's deliberately been antagonistic and provocative. The man is a coward and I can't stand him. But, yes, it is admittedly difficult to pinpoint times where he's been 'nasty' or 'hurtful' without them seeming insignificant out of context.
For the record, before I get attacked for this, I'm not much of a fan of Katie Hopkins either. Her treatment of Perez is something I can generally get on board with (because of the above), but there was no need for her to be quite so nasty to Alicia IMO. That said, she is still infinitely preferable to Hilton in every way.
LONG POST. Apologies. I very rarely post but apparently when I do, I go to town.
