Is Michelle's crime really supporting equal rights? If so I'm ok with that. For as long as young people would rather commit suicide than come out of the closet, anyone is more than welcome to be an ally in the community as far as I'm concerned. For as long as people are being imprisoned, beaten and even murdered for being lgbtq then women like Michelle (a straight woman who gets it) are vital because no minority can gain equal rights and FULL (not partial) support by themselves.

Michelle only supports equal rights when it involves people she likes. She doesn't like Perez and decided to use him as an educational tool to show the world what a 'bad gay' looks like. And as a member of the LGBT community myself I found that totally reckless, especially when she claims to be the voice of 'my people'.

I've had countless people tell me I'm ungrateful for feeling the way I do about Michelle, but I'm not going to applaud a heterosexual for thinking being gay okay is acceptable. It's 2015 and I expect that from people.

And lastly, I've been questioning Michelle's sincerity ever since she was weeping about her fight for LGBT rights in the same breath as worrying Perez had taken 'her' place in the final.

Michelle's crime is speaking for people that haven't asked her to represent. Michelle is part of the drag community, a small tiny Vaudevillian subculture that has little to do with sexuality. She likes hanging around with ostentatious gay men, like she's a sexuality equivalent of a slum tourist. No straight person who truly believed in should ever call a gay person "a disgrace to the gay community", because in doing so, she is basically stating how a gay person should act. In calling Hilton "a disgrace to the gay community" she is reducing him to his sexuality over behaviour that is unrelated to with his sexuality. And the only people that do that are bigots and homophobes.

That said, I appreciate her lesson in teaching people like me how to clap. I'd been doing it wrong for 40 years.

Michelle has been talking about the 'fight' and wanting to be the 'voice' but when it came down to it and Alexander used homophobic language towards Perez, she spent more time lambasting Perez and suggesting that it was his fault rather than Alexander's... and for someone whose only purpose in the house is to help the LGBT cause (apparently) that was more than a little off colour for me.
