The Many Things Wrong With A Show I Once Loved
STOP USING YOUR SPIN OFF SHOW TO TELL ME WHO I SHOULD BE SUPPORTING. All throughout your Channel 4 years even when you had HM's who were complete and utter idiots and you could see that with your own eyes, you still remained neutral and indifferent to all of the housemates on BBLB and BBBM. You gave all of the housemates pretty much equal amounts of time of pro's and negative's until they were evicted. So stop telling me who has been on "an incredible journey" or who has been "undoubtedly a great housemate". You are paid to put on the show...not to tell people who they should be voting for as an acceptable winner. I don't care if you think people like Hopkins or Helen have gone on some kind of redemption jounrey...stop telling peopl they are a worthy winner.
That's not for you to decide... Thats for us to decide. Heck you even hired a Geordie Bloke 15 years ago to tell us that we decide. Or have you just now decided that maybe you don't like that part of the show.
You know these earth shattering twists that are going to "rock the house to its very core"...Ever plan on delivering on one of those promises? Its basic common sense that if you build something up so much...more often than not it will not live up to expectations. Especially when its a way to try and keep the "contraversial" housemates away from being nominated.
Tell you what you could do if you wanted a huge shock twist that would rock the house to its very core...Bare with me because this might seem a little out there. Have them go up the stairs to nominate in the Diary Room in secret...and then when they least expect it...Keep it secret
. You do so many twists and turns to ensure that nominations are not a secret anymore...that its not a shock. I would be more shocked if you had normal nominations and people didn't find out who nominated them.
If you have 12-16 people living in a house where they can not escape from, conflict will naturally happen. You don't need to always play hidden clips showing the bitching (Especially when you only tend to show it to people likely to pick fights). You seem more than capable of picking housemates who just love to have an argument to begin with.
If you want an actual "game show" where anything coul happen and go anyway, stop doing tasks every week to tell them public perception. You might want to be able to control who gets nominated through these tasks but it literally leaves Zero element of suprise. Every time you do these tasks...I could tell you who will be up for eviction. We don't need Eamon Holmes, James Jordan & Jim Davidson going in and telling people what everyone thinks of them. We don't need you to read out negative tweets about people...they are not supposed to know that kind of thing.
Speaking of which...with your nominations. Can you just have a constant rule of what makes you up for eviction. If you don't want it as the two or more with the highest number of votes because you want more people up, fine but at least come up with a new rule you stick to. Like 2 Nominations or more and your up...don't change it on the fly so you can yet again control who is up for eviction.
You are supposed to be "Reality TV" or at least that is what you call yourself. Reality is the state of things as they actually exist, as opposed to an idealistic or notional idea of them. So the more you interfere with the natural flow of things...is the less you actually are a "Reality" show. Right now I can barely tell the difference between yourselves and Made In Chelsea...well actually MIC is probably a little more high end at this point.
Your shopping tasks half the time I can't tell what actually qualifies for them passing the task. Sometimes you don't even give an answer to that yourself. For all we know your just sat there deciding whether you want to let them eat this week or not.
As for Live Feed...You know what I do want live feed, but I can live without it. The problem is you will never get away from people pointing out how much you interferre unless they can watch events unfold live themselves. If the cost is an issue to put it on TV then fine...Channel 4 successfully got paid live stream online. This has to be an easier option for you.
Even as it stands right now...you give us clips online for us to see to create "Exclusive as it happens content" and I get that, I really do. But to then only put half of the clip and in turn half of the story on the HL show is shooting yourself in the foot. I know HL shows are limited but if you are going to make the full clip available online and not put it in full on the HL show there will always be people pointing out how you are editing it in someones favour and you only have yourself to blame.
Most importantly and I Cant stress this enough...This rant is happening because I at one point loved this show. I watched Big Brother 1, I remember being captivated when Nasty Nick was ejected. I remember Brian Dowling breaking barriers when he first won, I remember when Kate became the first female winner. I remember when Nadia became the first TG winner. Ive enjoyed a hell of a lot of highs as a fan of Big Brother and defended it throuh a hell of a lot of lows...
The problem is the lows these days are by far outweighing the highs. Its getting harder and harder to justify to myself why I still watch this. Its completely unrecognizeable to the show I knew. I know you have to move with the times...but this is not Big Brother to me anymore.
I can't for 100% sure say im never going to watch this show again, because I still want to be a fan. But when BB is on at 9pm and I look and see a new BBC/ITV drama or maybe a comedy panel show on elsewhere...its getting a hell of a lot easier to choose them over Big Brother. The record button isn't even looking that appealing anymore.
I know you check these forums and will still probably not care in any way shape or form about this post but as someone who want's to be watching and supporting this show. Please remember...you had a much loved award winning show for a reason. It used to be something that people loved to talk about in work, school...anywhere. Now it is a walking definition of "Guilty Pleasure"...I don't know that many people who admit to watching this. Certainly not people who will admit to it in large groups.
Yeah so huge massive rant done for now
For anyone who has took the time to read...thanks very much.

Thank you for that Nathan, I was riveted from start to finish! I agree with every single word of it and with the many other responses on here, kudos to you for saying what we are all thinking and getting it out there! Now the debate into our lost 'Big Brother' really begins.
It seems that most of us (out of habit, or perhaps loyalty and somewhat begrudgingly so) are watching a different show to the original one we know and love. It's virtually unrecognisable. There are so many flaws these days it's extremely difficult to know where to begin, although most of them have already been clearly pointed out on here and rightly so.
For me, it has all become very run-of-the-mill, predictable and quite boring. Take eviction shows for instance, once event and sometimes edge-of-your-seat tv. Nowadays, it feels like there is an eviction every day. There is no excitement, build up or gravitas whatsoever behind a housemate leaving the compound today as there once was. Even the way the housemate's names and voting lines are read out to the viewers is flat and both Emma and Rylan sound as if they want to be somewhere else or doing something better! The whole charade is cheap, rushed and unprofessional. We often learn more about a housemate (and others infact) during an eviction interview in the measely amount of time in which they have to be interviewed - we also discover that in the house that they were completely different to the producers edit - shock horror.
The nominations process and diary room etiquette have already been covered so I won't repeat that, a twist is now the norm, the tasks are appalling, along with the production team, format and overall execution of the show. I think the saddest point is that the 'fun' aspect of the show has completely vanished and the word removed entirely from the Big Brother dictionary. Those constant inserts before an episode warning of foul language, abusive behaviour etc said it all and painted a very clear picture of what the show is now all about and has become today sadly.
