"The data EE buy from RootMetrics allows them to use their report findings, the ones that put them top or tied for top in every category, in their advertising."

"EE have now reacted with outrage to Vodafone's assertion that the test was biased against them."Independent tests are, by their very nature, independent," an EE spokesperson said."

"However, EE have confirmed that they do indeed buy data from RootMetrics, something that neither Vodafone, O2 nor Three do."

EE seems to be their main, maybe even only customer.

You got me more curious.
Could you answer Jabba's question?

Love to but have no idea what he asked as I saw little of pertinence.

But answer my pertinent one on the blatant Newcastle bias first before you explain what the question was.

What's the difference betweeen samples, data points and indoor locations?

Four Way tie indeed. EE certainly are paying them well. Using their methodology there would be a better 4 way tie on Text performance.

http://www.choose.net/media/guide/ne...otmetrics.html
"the provider expressed their displeasure in a scathing attack on both RootMetrics and EE. The network said that the report shouldn't be taken seriously by consumers because it was "inconsistent" and biased towards EE."

'Inconsistent' is mild. They had 'balls' with that 'Four Way Tie' for Newcastle.
Vodafone happens to have a poor network. Vodafone complains because company says their network is poor. Vodafone is butthurt.

Curiosity killed the cat.
Seems every network has its fanboys, others posting Rootmetrics stuff in the past here to boast about Three and O2 etc.

I'm part suspecting or hoping Rootmetrics simply made a typing error with regards to Newcastle. The large EE gain of past might have simply been down to timing, in that EE rolled out 4G faster so Root at the time reported EE as much better, EE happily paying for the good propaganda.

Now, it is all back to them heading towards 'much the sameness' in performance etc.

So, can you explain why you have an issue with them calling it a 3 way tie. The results are within 1% of each other.

Would you preferred that they just claimed EE are the winner?

Three may not be the best network for everybody, but it is for me.

It may have the slowest roll out of 4G ever and maybe not even the fastest speeds in town/city centers, but I like that I can get at least 3meg download speed everywhere I go (even out in the sticks where I'm driving for work and stream internet radio down to when I go camping in Dorset, Devon or Cornwall (and even parts of Anglia where my friend on O2 and wife on Vodafone have only had GPRS or if they are lucky Edge)).

Indoor coverage seems to be ok for the places I normally go (apart from home, but they gave me a free booster box).

Fair enough it's not the best network for everybody (especially if you spend a lot of time in heavily populated areas), but it is for me.

Well said! Forums are full of people promoting and defending companies like Apple and attacking others like they own the company, lol!
Advice: Avoid the Sky TV forum then! Sky is their God and they stone all unbelievers to the point that no sensible discussion can ever take place.

Sums up my sentiments too. It's perhaps not got the peak headline speeds but I can browse and stream to my hearts content. That's what I want and it's what Three are providing

I still find it amazing that I can get 5Mbps on one bar (-109dBm or less) of signal on Three, whereas I can only get 5Mbps on O2 and that is with a really, really good signal (-85dBm+).

ive been getting several missed calls from an 0800 3584490 number that turned out to be three - they havent even bothered leaving a message, I eventually managed to pick up - and it was a poxy sales call from some call centre in India saying that ive been with them for a while, loyal customer etc etc, and:
Do i want a new phone with free 0800 calls? no happy with what ive got
an Ipad? - no dont need one
