If I could get over the Helen win, the bullying of Gary and now Perez…..but it this continues then I will need to stop watching since it is upsetting. I know it is scripted (kind of) but the bullying and emotions are real unlike horror movies or disturbing movies. This bullying inside and outside the house upsets me more than the movie Martyrs (sp?) or the movie Inside….lol (I like twisted films).”
This has been the funniest thread ever. 'Poor Perez' and 'most upsetting' - whaaaat??
Please. Perez was horrible all the way through. This was no 'defence' mechanism. It was a man who believes his own PR, coming in to a game show and thinking he'd make it all about him. He started everything. Right back at the beginning he was either posturing and shouting and screaming for the cameras, or in the Diary Room being arrogantly offensive, demanding that they remove certain housemates. Due to him saying he felt 'unsafe' we lost Jeremy and Ken. (Ken was subsequently bullied on Loose Women by Nadia's friends, and there's now a petition going round demanding an apology from them.)
Next Perez targeted Alex, taunting him and goading him until he was a broken-down mess. Alex flung a stupid comment about Perez's 'silly+ass faggoty face' because Perez, a gay man, had been making homosexual gestures towards him all day. It was perfectly understandable. Not correct, but neither was Perez in what he subjected Alex to. The following day, Perez leaned over Alex's food and breathed heavily on to it - the implication was 'I'm gay, I might have AIDS. I hope this worries you and makes you lash out at me'. In the end, Alex had no choice but to leave.
Katie and the others were appalled at what happened and it's the first time we saw the group (apart from his mouthpiece, Nadia) collectively shun him. Katie decided to taunt him, she said it was because of his behaviour. She was angry and upset, and unlike the others, didn't care how it looked to the cameras. She wanted him to apologise, she wanted him out of the house.
Nobody (apart from Nadia) wanted him there - for their OWN reasons, not because Katie forced them not to like Perez.
Perez decided to show he didn't care about Alex, or any of them. He pranced about half naked, taunting Katie. Don't forget, he lashed out at her right at the beginning, about seeing a married man - even though his Nadia had carried out affairs herself while married or in relationships, plural. Perez had previously researched each housemate and went in with a plan to destroy them. Apart from Nadia, who he said would be 'useful' to him.
I could continue and refer to him sexually harassing the women and threatening to anally rape Callum. But it would take all day to cover his misdemeanors. I just wanted to point out the sequence of events that led to him being ignored by the housemates, on their own terms.
Katie H stood up to him, on her own terms. She taunted him and Nadia, who was enabling his antisocial behavior. He courted the housemates' annoyance and deservedly got rewarded for it. If HE went too far in his anti British, arrogant rants, that's entirely HIS problem.
