He hasn't behaved badly - he's just hyperactive and because of this finds it hard to bring his energy down to a "normal" level, which in turn is very wearing for the "normal" people around him and causes a lot of tension and upset. This is not a reason the be berating him and demanding that he changes. Maybe he can't - and why should he anyway?

Totally with you there. I'm actually quite troubled now by this institutionalised bullying we have seen played out. It's not normal in real life, not in the UK, thank God.

Excellent post OP.
It's bad enough how he was treated by his fellow housemates. Last night he was subjected to less than friendly interviews by Emma and Rylan. Then came the relentless barrage of viciousness from Jimmy Bullard and Lisa Zissman last night on BBBOTS. Now we see that this was all preceded by a hideous attack from James Jordan (unbelievable hypocrisy considering his bullying of an elderly man) , and unpleasant comments from Eammon Holmes and Jim Davidson. Perez was loud and irritating, but nothing he did was as bad as the nastiness from this bunch of horrors. We viewers do enable it because we continue to watch, but I feel after tonight's show that I have finally had my fill of BB, CBB and BBBOTS and I've watched it form the beginning. It's sad to see what it has become. I agree. This is also the end of any of the BBs for me. The treatment they have meted out to Perez since he left the show (after MAKING it for these ba*tards) is really scary. Its really turned into something beyond really nasty and uncomfortable. I certainly don't want to watch anyone being broken down and emotionally destroyed out of pure spite and hatred just because it can be done to keep the ratings up, It's completely disgusting. And I can imagine what the sickening content will be on BBOTS tonight, especially as the two Perez haters are on the show again. Is it something I want to watch? No! I don't want to watch a gang of egotistical cowardly slavering wolves attack a housemate it will be too traumatizing .

I must admit even though I am not a fan of his, I thought it was pretty pathetic of Lisa not to shake his hand.
It is only a game show. |

Dear God ...........that was just dreadful. So unfair - so wrong.
I can't really add anything but ................what fools we are aren't we? We watch this stuff. There isn't any need for that kind of thing imo. James Jordan of all people calling another person a disgusting human. You couldn't make it up. Edit. Even Michelle shook her head in disbelief when Perez was accused of being the reason Alex left.

I too think that Perez has been made the scapegoat of this series. I cannot stand the vitriolic behaviour being exhibited towards him; it borders, seemingly, on mob abuse of one man. Perez did not set himself up as the arbiter of all nor did he denigrate fat people or those on Benefit or even those who have ADHD. Perez is not the person who instigated the nastiness in the house. I won't be watching the final as by doing so I would be condoning this reprehensible behaviour

Fully agree, it was not nice to watch...........if they felt the need to do this for some bizarre reason then why would they not balance it out and have a 'guest' challenging Hopkins on her odious behaviour???...instead it was total arse licking for her followed by the grand finale of her in the DR doing the totally predictable 'ever so humble' carp..............whilst BB is what it is, it has sunk to very unpalatable levels, Perez was the lamb to the slaughter, open house to stick the boot in whilst Hopkins came up smelling of roses and every one of her HM's reaffirming themselves that there sniffling and gutless behaviour was justified.
I would have said the same if it were Hopkins or anyone else getting that full on and one sided barrage.... |

No one deserves to be treated as badly as Perez has been treated inside and outside the house. Everyone, including BB, should be thanking him for making the show entertaining and for dealing with all the bullying. I am horribly shocked by how atrociously Perez has been treated inside and outside the house. Shame on the bullies and the mob mentality (freaking SHEEP)

Ok that was brutal.
Channel 5 have basically just 'normalised' the bullying of Perez. The House-mates treat him with contempt as their norm and are not challenged by Big Brother. Eammon Holmes, James Jordan and Jim Davidson all bully him with their nasty little bitter opinions of him and are unchallenged. Despicable. It doesn't matter if Perez was annoying or not, it is simply WRONG the way he has been treated. If Katie Hopkins wins it says it all about these rats on a sinking ship and us enablers for continuing to watch it.

The object is to demonise him so that the others can smugly claim that the 'good' has prevailed....as in the fairy tale nonsense theme. Can anyone honestly tell me how any of these finalists are good people??......answers on a passed- it's-sell-by-date turnip please.
For everyone to smugly congratulate themselves as being 'good people' is what I found to be the most sickening aspect to it. In my opinion they are no better as people than Perez, and in one or two cases probably worse. |

If this sort of dynamic played out in a class of schoolchildren, and you were the teacher, and just let it go on with your blessing and promoted it, you'd deserve to be sacked. |

I'm just about done watching and it's been shocking television. When did it become ok to treat someone like that? I was going to give Keith a vote tonight but frankly he can bog off too. Not one person spoke up and said what was happening was wrong. Perez looked genuinely hurt (and who wouldn't?). Channel 5 should be ashamed airing that, especially after the treatment they'd given him on BOTS.

Oh it was, but two wrongs dont always make a right.
Having said that, perhaps its not a bad thing to see someone who has behaved as he has face the consequences. Food for thought for any future Perez's. I accept that in your first sentence that you believe that Perez had done wrong, but at least you have the decency to recognise that two wrongs don't make a right. The housemates can gang up on someone and do what they want, (where are the consequences for them?), however the thing which I find to be the most problematic is that BB itself are doing their utmost to promote their behaviour as the right way. I think it says a lot more about the people who work on BB then it does the housemates themselves. Because you can arguably understand how housemates could act in certain ways to a certain extent, due to the artificial environment they are in, the stresses they may feel, and that they are competing in a game and playing it how they want to. But BB giving their behaviour their blessing, that's what doesn't feel right to me. |

Makes me wonder what kind of work culture exists there, or what kind of people gravitate to the decision making posts. Why would they think that what they broadcast last night was ok?
I'm actually all pent up an irritated now. Help me - I was going to watch BOTS after but am I just going to want to throw my telly out the window? |

I used to defend the programme as a sort of morality play.
Now, it's the opposite.

I can't agree more, OP. Perez was annoying at times, yes he was, but the more we watched the more I realised he was speaking the truth, and more than that, had the guts to speak the truth.
Eammon Holmes should be ashamed of himself, so should Chegwin, so disappointed with that pair. James Jordan and Jim Davidson, I expected no more from. But it was Big Brother that allowed this Perez bullying. I hope he blows the lid off the whole affair in revenge! |

I have no idea, it's completely beyond me how anyone could find that acceptable. When BB originally started I remember they used to make a big deal about how the mental health of all contestants was top priority. Now it seems you don't need to fear the abuse from fellow contestants because it's coming from BB direct. The worst part of it all was all the self-congratulating from the rest of them, assured that their crappy treatment of Perez was somehow ok.

Having seen them celebrating Perez leaving (interestingly only KH seemed to have a split second flash of how hideous it was before grinning inanely with embarrassment) I am really glad he is away from that disgusting shower.
It's a relief, isn't it Perez Show fans? No more attempt at humiliation, the final five can have their poisonous little sharkfest, reflected on here. No wonder he's so glad to be out. |
