It's confusing. She is on CBB as a Voice for the LGBT Community. That's great.
But I haven't actually heard her SAY anything to that effect? I've seen the t-shirts, I've heard her say that Perez has set The Cause back because apparently he is a bad gay or something? Other than that, I'm really not sure. It's a very quiet Voice. Are we all supposed to just say oh wow!! you are from New York, you work with drag artists and campaign and so therefore you're great?

Tell me about all the work you've done in Saudi Arabia, Russia Michelle. In fact, never mind about the work you HAVEN'T done, just SPEAK with the VOICE and publicise the abuse and persecution of "your community" that goes on throughout the world. You know, the world outside NYC and your darling England?

Well said op

If she's there to be someone else's 'voice' then she's failed because she hasn't actually SAID anything for them

... it's been all about her as far as I've seen

It's a shame the gay community don't want or need her representing them. They probably think she's useless as like the op says has done nothing to stand up for LGBT except slag Parez off for being an embarrassment to them. I'm sure their much nastier gay people out there than Parez, Michelle. Get over yourself! Roll eyes.

What she actually said was 'I am the voice of the LGBTG community' - that's it.

I understand she does a nice line in T shirts on her web page though

What she's said to me from day one OP is that she's a 'representative for the gay community', but very quickly established that she seen Perez as competition and henceforth began attacking him with her whispering campaign against him.

She's actually a nasty piece of work.................and completely ruthless in her quest.

She has even managed to get Callum and others onside with her against Hopkins.

Now who would have seen that coming?

That's how calculating this woman is.

Weren't you watching and listening OP She lead a battalion of crusaders to bully and ostracize Perez the Evil for the sake of the Gays. It's all been very well documented OP. Tut tut

So I didn't miss something then? OK.
I mean, I can understand to some extent that just by BEING on CBB she is enhancing her stance and commitment to her beliefs and that she will speak about it further after she leaves the House. I can't wait. I'd never heard of homosexuals or drag queens before she arrived so my breath is baited.

Indeed trevor. She's a very calculated woman.

And I don't like people like that winning BB.

Oh it's ok! I got that message. Perez = Bad Gay. I was so glad she reminded me of that because I was stupidly thinking that he was just an individual person. Imagine! I felt so silly. So I dredged up some prejudices deep in my psyche that were probably residual there from my grandparents generation and I got it! Phew...

Her message is that LGBT need to act in a very precise way as defined by HER. Perez did not meet her standards so that gay man is ostracized.
Her message: MY WAY OR NO WAY. "YOU GAYS" (she says "the gays" or "my gays" and I just wanted to be clear and say I am referring to HER gays*) need to act straight and not in a stereotypical OTT camp way. I have no idea how she tolerates men in drag. That stereotyping of men in drag by me was sarcasm.

Does anyone watch The real housewives of beverly hills (or the atlanta version). They always say "my gays" and a manner that makes them sound like dogs. Andy (representative of the show who is also gay) FINALLY is telling them off for this behavior that has gone on for years. Gays are not possessions!

When someone who prides themselves on standing for/representing/being a voice for the "oppressed" - says that a "good" person would win, I knew she's deluding herself.

I think Michelle is blind about what true "tolerance" means; no one is "good" or "bad", just different. Her claim that Perez is one of the "bad" ones, waters down any future opportunity to speak for the marginalized.

Sorry Michelle, you failed.

ahhhhh! so that's where Peter Tatchell went wrong.

Perhaps if he stopped wasting his time doing all that boring campaigning and getting beaten up all the time, and instead concentrated on his fashion range, he too could get on a reality show and stake his claim to be King of the gayfolk.

She does a drag show, hence she is obviously the best qualified for representing the gay community. When she cried about Perez letting her people down, I was confused - is she gay? No. Bi? No. Trans? No. Obviously straight people representing the LGBT community is fine - thank you, Michelle. But really? Perez lets them down? As Magwitch says, what has she actually done in places who need it? Go to Russia, not Big Brother. Silly woman.

She's speaking for a community that doesn't have a voice. The gay community sure talks a lot for a community that doesn't have a voice.

A lot of people now 'heroically' speak up for the gay community e.g. Lady Gaga. Could it be that they've hitched a ride on a bandwagon that they know is going to win?

She said one of the gay men was the wrong kind of gay. This is the only awareness raising she has done. Which lots of people are grateful for. Can you imagine what a terrible society it would be if we treated the wrong gays the right way?

She is a voice as long as you meet her vision for 'the gays'!

Indeed. And we will always be in her debt for showing us how you deal with "misfits, weirdos and The Gays" who are being isolated and ostracised. It had never occurred to me that they sought bullying and humiliation. Bad Marg.

Eugh, her hypocrisy is sickening. I just watched her little speech where she mentioned 'speaking for those with no voice'...before going on to slam Perez yet again.

Well not in my name, I have my own voice and speak for myself. And we do not need a straight female choosing the rules on good/bad gays.

She is such a tedious old fag-hag.

Now I understand that and obviously appreciate her explaining that to me as until now I didn't know that, but if he is a bad gay surely she could have shuffled him across and popped him into her misfits section of society. Or am I confused and "the gays" can only be gay and not also a misfit ? TBH it's all very confusing for me as I honestly thought people were just people so this has been a big learning curve and I am now only just realising my mistake !

Now speaking of the misfits can anyone educate me and let me know who they are, I loved Alicia but thought she might be a misfit but obviously I was wrong about that as she was thrown to the wolves in banana gate so who are the misfits ? Or are misfits just not allowed to eat bananas ? see told you I was confused

Got to agree with this - all I've seen of her is blending in with the bullying group, for her own safety more than anything. I like her, but I'd rather have seen her stick up for someone.

That's interesting... because it seems to me that Michelle treated Perez like a pet dog from the rescue centre that had pooped on her designer sofa, when in fact the real shits were her and her mates.

How would anyone know whats been said when we've only seen 40 mins of every day?
Menk

I'm sure she spent a lot of time talking about what she does for the 'gay community' seeing as she has devoted much of her life to it, but why would they show it? They haven't shown anyone talking about their day-to-day lives.

If Perez had specifically put her on the spot about what it is that she does exactly, and it had been part of a heated argument, we may have seen a reply, but it seems it didn't happen.

If she had made some embarrassing speech, with a few tears thrown in for good measure, we would likely have been shown it, but if she talked about it quietly and often, I see no reason why it would be shown.
