Well I thought Madonna was great (and i'm not wearing blinkers and always go to SpecSavers for my glasses) she looked good and sounded good and danced well for an older woman and the red really suited her!

I can name current popstars who never mime 95% of the time (Rihanna, Beyonce) unless there's an instance such as they have no rehearsal time (for example the incident at the White House with Beyonce...although she still sang live, just to a backing track). All of that is irreleavnt though, as Madonna mimes A LOT. Even on her tours she mimes. She's not up there with Britney in the miming stakes no, but she mimes a hell of a lot. Also, please don't tell me to "Take a seat" as it makes you sound like you're about 10 years old...and as you're psoting on this forum, I assume you're not.

But Madonna wasn't miming this performance, you can clearly hear her singing along with the track.

She's done many live performances in the past so yes she is a singer.

She may not always sing live but that doesnt mean she's not a singer. Her job is literally being a pop singer. Being pedantic over the two meanings of the word when everyone in the world knows Madonna is a pop singer is just silly.

No, she doesn't always 'sing' and her voice isn't necessarily the best or strongest in the world and you can use those facts to say she's not a singer in one sense of the word. But realistically she has been known for 30 years as being a pop singer. If that description offends your sensibilities then use artist or musical act or performer or something. Same difference. She's Madonna and she's a singer/popstar/entertainer, so what if those words are often used interchangeably.

Congratulations to Beck, a true artist. Very underrated.

Hope a shedload of people who have never heard of him or his previous albums now go and buy his music.

As for Sam Smith, it's happened. He now becomes the male Adele.

I'm glad Ed Sheeran didn't win anything!

Can't believe Clean Bandit won a Grammy, but congratulations to them!

Well done to Beck tho, fully deserved to win instead of that overrated diva.

Lets just all agree Madonna is an iconic figure who will be remember long after Kanye, Beyonce and co are forgotten.

All of this Illuminati and stylised Occult rubbish is so incredibly passé. It’s just the same recycled images over and over again. Madonna is running out of gimmicks. She was never original, and she’s more derivative than ever. Nothing she does is shocking anymore. If she really wants to shock people then maybe she should try to sing without all the smoke and mirrors. At least Bjork is still creating interesting and original music instead of the camp dance music that Madonna keeps peddling every few years. Rebel Heart will sound old and passé in less than five years’ time.

And a big LOL at the ignorant Beyoncé fans who are getting their pants in a twist because Beck won. Don’t know who Beck is? Try stepping outside of your bubble once in a while.

Can anyone explain why the Grammy's are being premiered tonight on UK tv on 4Music of all places with a 2hr 30min special at 9-11.30pm, yet it gets repeated on Ch4 later tonight at 11.35pm with only a 1hr 30min slot. So they're cutting an hour out?

Surely they would get more viewers if it was shown on Ch4?

Sam smith is dreadful, that stay with me track is so mind numbingly dull. Music really is pure guff these days theres no oomph in it anymore its all just pure depressing dross.

Madonna is the only thing some people want to talk about and you can bet the same people who say she is no longer relevant are the very same people who couldn't get here fast enough to discuss her!

So, Kanye says Beck should 'respect artistry' and give his award to Beyoncé... and that the show isn't rewarding 'real artists'... good grief!

I wonder if Kanye would ever give an award he'd fairly won to another artist

But hilariously, Beck's win alone makes Kanye's comments completely irrelevant as Beck has been making creative albums for years now. I know it's subjective what makes a great album (and Beck won't be everyone's cup of tea); and Beck even said himself he thought Beyoncé would win... but it's not fair to suggest 'real artists' aren't winning these awards.

I haven't checked out Beck's new album yet... at one time I was obsessed with his song 'The New Pollution'.

Still don't see it.

To me he's the male Duffy, John Newman is going to be the Male Adele. Lower key but well received debut then he'll get big on the second album, Sam Smith will disappoint.
