FMs should be accountable IMO if they make an accusation about a HM which is vile and abusive with no substance why shouldn't they be accountable

The only people we're accountable to on here are the Mods, not fans who can't cope with their favourite being disliked. BB is panto, a lot of booing and hissing, but when it's all over no one really gives a toss about these people.

I never understand the need to actually hate someone, by all means hate their words or actions, but none of these people are serial killers, or such flat out bad people that they should be hated. Disliked yes on occasions, but they are in a game show and they all want to win.

I think you go into your profile and add them to a list, I haven't done it in many years so am a bit rusty on how it's done.

What an odd post! Since I started this thread how did it get clicked on in the first place if I am on ignore? There is obviously a disadvantage if the OP is not read...like driving blind.
We all have opinions/bias. This thread addresses when that attitude becomes so hateful as to be vitriolic and so more revealing and questionable about the poster. Perhaps I have addressed your post on this in the past and it touched a nerve? (Just an observation for others to read)

It is very strange. Then there are these who adore a housemate to the point where they go all OTT and get offended when someone dares to criticise that housemate. It's only a silly reality show and I'll probably have almost forgotten about it in a couple of days.

When they make a post, click on their name in blue on the left of screen. Bring up their public profile. Greyed line, two lines down, you will see the equivalent of: Add MargMck to your buddy list or Add MargMck to your ignore list.. Click on ignore. This brings up a bit of your profile. Confirm you are adding them to ignore list, make sure there is a little X in the box next to their name. After that, anytime you add another, your current ignore list will come up. |

Hi Amy. You can still click on a thread originated by someone on your ignore list, you just can't read their posts. However if another FM quotes the ignored FM in a reply you can see that particular post in quotes. Hope that makes sense.

whilst i agree with your OP, you yourself accused me of lying about ALexander in another thread. I quoted Alexander saying ""I will get in your ass. I will get in your ass sonny. Get some son. You want some, son? Get some son". said whilst cradling his genitals." and you said "The bit that I have highlighted in italics feels made up....I don't recall that being said at all.
"I posted the vt of Alex saying it but you never retracted your comment that i had made it up. If i hadn't seen other posts by you i could have assumed you were trolling me. So whilst i agree there are deliberate wind up merchants and trolls sometimes there are also misunderstandings. |

Yes thanks. It makes sense but my OP was not quoted in anyone's reply before that FM posted....so my point still stands, the FM was responding oblivious of the content of the OP.

Many here have remarked on the intensity of hatred towards certain HMs in this series. In fact it has been so extreme as to cause threads to be closed, e.g. towards Nadia. Indeed some FMs have been rendered 'inactive' members (but I guess that may have more to do with personal attack on other FMs).
It is one thing to find fault with a HM, however, if the criticism is toxic/venomous then it becomes a case of pot kettle black, i.e. makes the attacker no better than their target. The attempt to claim the high moral ground then becomes redundant. Of course I realise that this would not matter to the person if they are a troll and some have noticed this troll element here. I guess for those FMs who do not regard themselves as trolls though, but make highly nasty posts, could benefit from taking stock of how they interact here. There is a fine line between intensive, provocative posts and crossing over to troll like behaviour. I had to report a FM for starting a thread on myself - not a celeb in the house - and misrepresenting me. I was pleasantly surprised by the support I quickly got, on his newly started thread, by other FMs here - so it badly backfired and the thread was quickly closed anyway. Also I do not have a victim's mentality so he targeted the wrong person! Clicking on his fb link revealed a very troll-like status.I agree it's shocking how many people posting here, about ***ing famewhores on a reality TV show are taking it and turning comments around here to comment on and insult other posters. "Fight" their logic, if you don't agree with your fellow posters, don't fight their existence. People here won't take a second just to establish there's respect for someone's point of view, and then lay out an opposing point of view within respectful boundaries. I don't see anything wrong with opinions like "Perez is certifiable and vile", or "Katie Hopkins is a plonk**", or "Keith is an insincere faker", or whatever anyone wants to say. It's how people respond BACK to those things being said, and how they treat their fellow posters over those opinions that's at issue. |

I'm sorry but the reason I did not reply after that is that I did not see your link, i.e. did not visit that thread again I don't think. Believe me, I have no problem admitting where I may have got it wrong/misjudged someone. I don't recall that thread....if you have the link, could you PM it to me please? Thanks. Do you know what a troll is? I suggest you familiarise yourself with the definition. It does not fit myself in the slightest, e.g. I haven't been following/targeting you much less baiting/provoking you at all. I do recognise your name as someone who supported me on that thread that an FM started on myself, i.e. deliberately misrepresenting what I said (which was quickly closed) and for that I thank you.

While I do agree I don't like seeing even the HMs referred to in the way some on DS refer to them and they do need to be sometimes responded to, I have seen some terrible things written about Perez, Katie H and KatieP this year even though I don't like KatieH I don't think some things can go unchallenged.
The problem is challenging them (not you specifically but plenty of people here) by indicting the poster. It's so strange and dysfunctional when that happens. Frankly these people on the show CHOOSE to be on it. Their motives are mercenary, and they reap huge career benefits. We can take positions on them, but it's odd when someone feels so invested in these strangers, who frankly agree to a devil's bargain, that they break normal rules of decent social behavior to defend them so strongly. Honestly, my default assumptions on Housemates are negative. Reality shows are a least common denominator endeavor even at the best of times. Going on one already shows wrong priorities and weak character. So that's the position I often start from. But in a way that makes the idea of so violently choosing one over the other even more repugnant a response to me. Respect the people you are talking to directly (even if anonymously) more than some defense of a reality show plon***, that's what I say. |

I got banned for a week here last year on a BB thread and now very rarely ever post, indeed this is a very rare post. It is easy to get riled up in the cut and thrust of a thread ,especially BB threads , I'm nearly sure it was someone on here who reported it to the mods along with a few others. Not a nice thing to do.
Its very simple if you come on here , you must expect different opinions and the strength and disposition of those will vary. To report people to get them banned its a bit sad, especially if you consider it your public duty. Frankly I have better things to do with my time and energy. |

Well, calm down firstly. I did not accuse you of lying if you read my words - just that it felt made up and that I didn't recall reading them....i.e. giving you the benefit of the doubt.
Do you know what a troll is? I suggest you familiarise yourself with the definition. It does not fit myself in the slightest. Comments like that are all part of what you are deploring in your OP. I was calmly pointing out an irony not raging at an injustice. I wrote the post about Alexander in response to someone else's question and you said the words i wrote were made up: that is implying i am lying. By putting the little angry face next to it it implied you were angry about it too. You didn't recall it being said ergo i was making it up. That can be viewed as a personal attack which was what your OP in this thread was bemoaning. If you'd asked when Alex said those words, i could have given you the information; instead you made an assumption and that was that. I am actually just agreeing with your OP and adding that some of what people initially take as " intensive, provocative posts and crossing over to troll like behaviour" is in fact a misreading of a post, like you again misread my last post and the part where i said "if i hadn't seen other posts by you i could have assumed...". you ignored that and just read the word troll and defended yourself with little digs like "calm down" and "familiarise yourself with the definition". Yes i do know what a troll is thanks, do you know what manners are?.....see what i mean? everyone can be rude it's easy to write arsey little comments. ETA you appear to have edited your post since i quoted it so this might not be relevant now i haven't read what you've added yet.... I've read it now...no worries i'm not having a go at you i'm just pointing out something i see a lot of, where people misread or half read posts or read them in the wrong tone of voice....or like you said you didn't go back to that thread again, which is fair enough. The links to the thread and the vt were in my last post. |

I have since clicked the link and it gives the whole programme. Are you able to pinpoint where your comment is there? |

You are guilty of misreading my post to you (on that thread that you again quoted here). I said it FEELS made up, i.e. not that it IS made up!!! Big difference, yes, i.e. not an accusation but an implication.
you added: "i don't recall that being said at all " which changes the tone somewhat.since that's all you got out of that post i won't bother explaining again. Enjoy the finale tonight though ETA you've edited again and you ask Quote:
