Why is Perez being paraded as some sort of Saint by his fans? His behaviour in first 10 days was appalling and yes he did redeem himself a little when he calmed down and started to become a bit more like Mario, than his alter ego. It is as if he did no wrong?

Why did he feel the need to come into the house as his alter ego instead of Mario. Why didn't he introduce himself as Mario and explain his job (alter ego blogger called Perez Hilton). Ricky Gervais wouldn't come into the house as his character from the office.

It was all a game and not very well played by him but he is far from the Saint his fans make him out to be and appear to blame other HMs for his behaviour. He needs to take responsibility, so please stop excusing his behaviour and blaming others.

I don't recall anyone calling him a saint. You have 3 times, but no one else.

His fans will have varying motivations for supporting him.

Personally I feel like he was annoying in an entertaining way in the first few days - talking in an outdoor voice, lecturing the others, demanding attention. Behaving in a way that quite unsurprisingly alienated his fellow housemates.

But I never saw him be cruel or target individuals in a malicious way.

His irritating look-at-me behaviour made him a target and KH thought it gave her carte blanche to attack him.

He only attacked in retaliation (asking KH about her affairs and how they affected the jilted wife, etc)

So while I acknowledge he was a pain in the arse for the housemates, he also, in his attempts to wind them up in retaliation for their attacks, gave me many moments of joy and laughter.

He also never attacked the ones I liked, and was never mean to nice people like Alicia, Keith, Nadia or Katie Price. Why? Because they never attacked him. I think that's got to be telling.

He's no saint but his heart was in the right place and he never deserved the bullying meted out to him by KH and Cami.

What did he do that was so appalling? Dance? Talk to himself? Hug a bunny?

I haven't seen anyone call him a saint other than you OP, I was well aware of his flaws but that didn't mean he deserved how he was being treated, I came to admire the man for his fortitude and bravery, and he was one of the only ones who made me laugh this year too. That made him my winner.

Well, it's relative....

There's some out there who seem to feel that because Perez made some mistakes and has been flawed that it's okay to treat him any which way desired, no matter how awful. That he "deserves" it and where responsibility is concerned it only applies to Perez and no one else.

I wouldn't agree with that, just because he might have made mistakes, or displayed poor behavior, or been extremely annoying... doesn't mean he can't be the target of victimization as the picture becomes fuller...

Meaning, in the moment he's responsible for the part he plays but everyone else also has a responsibility in how they react, how they act going forward, what choices they make, what part they play, etc... time doesn't stop in the moment.

Socially isolating, mob mentality and targeted victimization on the level in which was observed is far and beyond greater than anything Perez is responsible for in the house, in my view... that makes him a victim relatively and looking at the bigger picture. [IE, things didn't stop in the moment when Perez might have displayed poor choices/behavior... the picture and perspective became fuller with the journey of time]

Is he a saint and without any blame? No way...... did he deserve social isolation, targeted victimization, extreme mob mentality? No way.

It's not black and white, or absolute.... many people inside and outside of the house displayed poor behavior, and acted in an extremely unevolved manner in my opinion. [Including Perez]

The entire thing is a sad, disappointing disgrace/travesty.

as above have said, noone has said hes a saint, his only crime was being different and showing a bit of vulnerability, a sitting target for the classic bully who has an inferiority complex
