Surprised at the lack of radio support as well, I thought this genre would appeal to radio 1.”

Radio 1 only base their playlists on what artists are new and "cool" not on the quality of music.. Where did it chart??

That's a real shame. It's aways quite important to get top 10 for a debut single if you want your career to take off. Not the best start but I hope his next single is more successful.

Loved the song I'm shocked it charrted so low.

It's a solid start (especially as he had no airplay), he's got a sold out tour coming up and the positive reception from the first single will help too. He just has to build on from it now and start gaining more fans.

It charted low because it's not getting streamed. Now that streaming's in the chart, sales plus streams is a huge mountain to climb to chart at all, especially for a new artist.

On sales alone it charted at #27 which isn't as dismal http://www.officialcharts.com/charts...s-sales-chart/ and is the second highest new entry this week

Congrats to Luke debuting at #40!! His single is absolutely brilliant and exceeded all of my expectations. You can tell that he's really grown since the X Factor...and now he's about to tour with The Vamps. Again! Can't wait for more of his singles and debut album.

I seriously doubt RCA are congratulating him on a #40 (or even #27 on sales alone) chart position. Aiden Grimshaw was also signed to RCA after XF, and released his first single and album in a similar time frame to Luke's. He was dropped by the label after his first single charted at #35 and the album later charted at #19.
