Oh love little George - broke my heart.

How the hell did we survive four/five/six? Just brutal.

Great show but dissapointed that instead of discussing the wonderful insight into child psychology, people here are just bashing the parents. Parenting is a hard job and support is needed not constant criticism. We are the most judgemental nation on earth.

Well I welcome the explanations that the child psychologists give and do not disagree with them which means there is nothing to post about really. This may well be the case for others.

Perhaps you overlook the many posts that express delight with this programme?

Poor George. I was nearly in tears myself watching him. His family must have been heartbroken listening to him sobbing 'I made it myself'.

Lily really came across as a lovely child last night, and Alfie and Emily's friendship was lovely. I found Emilia a bit pettish, but she was the youngest of the group.

I wanted to reach into my tv to hug him. He is such a sweet little boy.

They are all amazing little children and wish I had chosen that carer even tho I would end up crying with them

I didnt see anybody just bashing parents, if it takes a village to raise a child then you should expect the villagers to have opinions.

The Villagers on DS will have $hitall to do with the upbringing of the children featured, so that's got nothing to do with this.

It's on TV and DS is a forum for people to air their opinions.
Whether their opinions are worth a good goddamn is another matter entirely.

I'm another one who finds the opinions of the professionals valuable, gives some balanced opinion as to what is happening.
No doubt many will ignore their considered opinions and rattle off some kneejerk judgmental nonsense, it's what people seem to do.

Aww at Emily and Alfie, i think they have probably the most genuine friendship we've seen so far, at the start they mentioned about Emily and Alfie's friendship in the previous episode, i thought they were going to say they werent spending any time together , but i was pleased when they were still friends. Emily is a very sweet girl.

Watching the start of part 2 of the 5 year-olds episodes now and it was really sweet to see that Emily and Alfie truly missed the rolling disea- each other.

It was nice to see Ruth taking the lead with the new girls too, but how long will it last?

ETA: Something funny I noticed in the background when Emily, George and Alfie were running towards the house together. George stops at the see-saw and looks around in utter disdain as he sees the other two carry on and he's left on his own.

Lily just barging in to comfort Alfie on his hearing aids, then chastising him for his poor handstand.

Dirty shoes with blood squirted on eh, Arthur? Hmmm......this pleasant lunchtime banter just got post watershed!

OMG! Tug-of-war!

That can't be allowed in this day and age, surely.

I found Kash's behaviour concerning tbh , there is something very unlikable about him, if i was his Parent after watching this i think i would have to have a rethink on how he was being brought up, letting him hang around his 14 year old Brother and his friends is having detrimental effect on his upbringing imo

I love this series, its interesting and insightful, but one thing I hate is when the teachers ask, on more than one occasion, "are you a good boy or a bad boy". No child of 4, 5 or 6 is bad.

It seems to go against the child lead teaching style in the group. Why would you want to label a child as bad or naughty?

I also didn't like the way so many tasks were made into a competition with a winner, however as the series continues I can now see the benefit to the children of doing this allowing them the opportunity to have their feelings at not winning, and hopefully learning its ok not to win.

As George put it, so beautifully, it doesn't matter if you win, what matters is how you feel inside. Ahhh.

It's such a fascinating series - the clothes experiment was the most interesting this week. Love the little boy who said there was a man dressed as a woman in his street and two men could be boyfriend and boyfriend, and showed no prejudice bless him!

ETA a sad fact that terrorism enters their play next week

ETAA the funniest line was "when they grow up some boys have a moustache, oh and my grandma has a moustache"

I agree. He seems to control the house as well going by what the mother said. Not a good idea at all.

Thing is I didn't want to say he/she is really pretty. I was no wiser by the end of the show.

Marley is a girl - when they divided into boys and girls she was in the girls' group.
