I really can't take the whining over mum being painted wearing a hat.

I was so touched by the friendships between Theo and Tyler, Alfie and Emily, and Elvin and Beatrice.
I don't suppose the parents will ever see this message but I found myself saying more than once that I hope my own children turn out to be like Theo, Emily, Elvin and Beatrice! Kudos to you all, you've raised some truly wonderful children!

I was wondering what happened about the Cake incident.
Nice to hear that Leila and Eloise?? confessed, but it would have been interesting to see them working their way through to that conclusion. Eloise and the story about the icing falling off and ending up on someone's shoe I'd have assumed she was the culprit because she came up with that convoluted tale, and I've have been wrong. Interesting how the other kids joined in on the story looking at their shoes when they all knew Leila had eaten the cake. Anyway just one highlight among many. Four year olds are back next week with the nativity, just hope it's not too knowing as they slotted in 'you're not the father' from the show into the script. I'm guessing that clip has had a life of it's own since the show and whoever said it and her parents have had to suffer it been repeated back to them. I've recorded this series and if I need a lift I just pop one on for a bit. |

There is a special programme on Xmas Day - Gogglebox but with kids!
Called Gogglesprogs. It's an hour of their reactions watching programmes. Should be very funny. It's on at 8 p.m. on Channel 4 - worth noting!

Glad the series is coming back next year! I have loved this especially the 4 year olds but it was very interesting. albeit worrying how much the children had picked up from the media by the age of 6 - games involving terrorism and Taylor Swift (strange combination!)
And the little girl that didn't want the Kash to draw a picture of her mum with arms because of how much time mum spent on the phone - a lesson to all parents! I didn't understand her aversion to the black hat though! ETA nearly forgot about how adorable Elvin was when Beatrice was playing with other people - "How does it feel when you see Beatrice playing with other people?" "Happy because she's got other friends" Bless him, what a lovely boy and great parenting behind it. |

As if this needed consolidating, he was very hurt/tearful when he reminded them that he was Beatrice's best friend first (when Beatrice gave out her chocolate money). I think she is totally adorable. |

I felt that this was a tactful answer, i.e. the one he knew we wanted to hear and what he wanted to be true because there was a tell-tale, giveaway expression after that.....his face dropped, noticeably!

The other week we had Ruth who knew she 'should' have said something nice about her partners painting that she disliked, because her partner was upset, but she struggled and just hid her face and said nothing instead ![]() The convoluted cake on the shoe story still amuses me. I hope the next series is a bit longer, so we get to see the 'also rans', rather than concentrating on the one or two main 'stories' for each year group. I'll find general children's play/interaction entertaining, although others will no doubt find it dull. |

The Secret Life of Children at Christmas 8.00pm C4 The 3 wise men come shuffling onto stage, over dressed and nervous. The first one says "I bring you gold" and hands Mary a shiny parcel. The 2nd one says "I bring you myrhh" and does the same. Then there is a pause whilst the 3rd wise man looks uncertain. He is given a nudge and blurts out "and Frank sent this!" |

The wise men followed a star because "they didn't have a map" and by the time she got to Bethlehem Mary was "knackered!".
This is just great as ever.

I wonder if Cuba's parents still think autonomously home educating him is a good idea seeing this. The other kids are getting well pissed off with him!

This is hilarious, Angel Nigel, the penguin visiting baby Jesus, Mary was knackered and the wise men followed the star because they didn't have a map, loving it!

Got to the end of the titles and had to blow my nose.
10 minutes in to my recording of this, cracking, Skyla and those who were 4 last time we saw them look the same, doesn't time fly... I do worry about some kids like Cuba who are home schooled, but he doesn't seem to have any problems socialising with the group, which makes me feel a little more relaxed. I like the new kid Shakir who took over the list and first and second choices for parts. Edit: right after I wrote that, Cuba started playing up blowing raspberry's. |
