When Elouise said a boy or a girl could play Mary and it doesn't matter, me and my wife looked at each other in approval.

You go girl!

Cuba and the winkies was hilarious but its obvious his Mum told him it hurts very very much to have a baby, can't stand that martyrism about childbirth. Say it to your husband and your ungrateful teens by all means but to your young child its a bit much imo,

Only a bit portentous, slippery slope FGS.

Anyway as someone else mentioned Elouise she's just joyously random.
Got all 7 of the latest series on the PVR and they'll get dragged out when I need cheering up.”

Having worked with children all my life Its still my opinion . Cuba now already needs guidance in how to behave in a group . If they fail to guide him soon he will struggle to learn it and find it difficult to accept how to behave with his peers . Even the kids were backing away from his manipulative behaviour .

The slippery slope may not slide him into trouble or murder someone but unchecked he will struggle with social mixing in my opinion .

Cuba is a typical home schooled kid, put on a pedestal, and very entitled. Poor kid, it's not cute at all to behave so 'autonomously'. It's setting up to fail in life, especially socially. He was miles apart from the other children, and I felt sad for him

Theo and Alfie were my favourites, so lovely to watch.

I would have liked to see George return but little Theo was always my favourite so it was good to see him again. Elvin is a sweetheart too.

The teachers are fantastic with the kids and I do not know where they get their patience.

I only recorded the series having caught the first episode by accident. It was something to watch and delete. Haven't deleted one, I need the space, but just cannot bring myself to do it. I know if I'm feeling glum I can chuck on one of these and be happy within minutes.

Wish it was on every week of the year.

The ones I've met are the opposite, usually all muddy faces and worthy dungarees-the caring and sharing gentle type. I really do think school is not for everyone so I wouldn't fault his parent for that. Ironically I think Cuba would benefit greatly from structured play with other children, again other kids are the best levellers and he would learn the hard way that snatching things and disrupting people often ends up in you getting a thump, literally or metaphorically.

I would like to adopt Elvin he has the loveliest nature and is very cute. Obviously his current Mum is doing a great job and is therefore unlikely to hand him over

The main problem with home schooling is shown by cuba, many lack social skills.

It gets me the "social speak" the hippy type parents come out with such as "he goes his own way" (does what he wants) and "he's a free spirit" (does what he wants, when he wants) and believe they can do wrong and need no discipline.

They need to be socialised with more than parents. Like mine and my sisters puppies, mine was allowed to play with other dogs and got as much contact with strangers as possible and grew up a happy, sociable and confident dog.
My sisters was not allowed to play with other dogs and never really socialised with anyone other than my sister and her husband, it's now aggressive to other dogs (inc mine) and nervous aggressive round strangers (if a stranger goes to pet it it will snap at them) and can never be trusted around children.

Aren't they just? Totally adorable! The way he supported her to get her on stage...
and then, after the performance (but still on stage) blurting out that he knew she
could do it. Her sweet reply of "Alfie! Alfie!"

I warmed to Emily in an earlier programme when she emphatically announced "this day is the best day of my life!"

Only just managed to catch up with the Nativity one, so much fun! But Cuba - oh dear, what have his parents been teaching him in regards to religion? He was so rude and intolerant, which is so sad. It was so obvious that his dad is a boxer! Shame that he hasn't taught his son some manners along with the boxing technique.

I loved the friendship between Emily & Alfie so much, and between Elvin & Beatrice.
The series has been eye opening and an absolute joy.

On this tip Channel 5 showing A primary School Nativity now, a follow up on their series about Gascoigne Primary School in Barking (Britain's Biggest Primary School??)

I'd forgotten about this series, nice to see Mr Fox again.

Just watched it, absolutely brilliant, it was hilarious and very cute,

I was a bit confused about the groups at first, there were a group from the last series mixed with this series, so i couldnt remember who was in who's group, its a shame Beatrice wasnt involved who was Elvins friend, it would have been nice to see them together again.

Cuba's behaviour is a bit concerning, if you don't have any structure or discipline in life its going to be very hard to fit into society when older, we would all love to live our lives the way we want to, and sod everyone else, but unfortunately that isnt possible and we learn that at an early age, if you are home schooled by parents who think its ok to let their child decide what they learn and what they want to do is ok, you get the behaviour Cuba is showing, which will only get worse imo.

I hope they make more of these series, i would prefer to watch this for 6 weeks rather than Big Brother tbh

My son was home educated and was a loving, caring little boy who socialised well and I was always having people tell me he was a pleasure to invite round. I taught him to have good manners and to think of others before himself.

However, Cuba doesn't appear to be having any guidence in this way at all and it is such a shame that it will give people a bad impression of home education. In my opinion, Cuba was just a naughty, spoilt little boy who needs some loving and caring parents who will put him on the right tracks and teach him that there are other people in the world apart from him. He will find life difficult in the future if he is allowed to carry on as he is doing right now.

I would dispute that Cuba is not loved or cared for by his parents. Their love for him was evident during the Nativity play. I think you might mean that a change in their values might be beneficial to Cuba, since they clearly value more freedom/less restriction than is the norm in bringing up a child.

Jayda's great. "Oh my God, she's fantastic", she says, when she realises one of the other girls is left-handed.

And Eloise is simply darling.

And poor Emily, getting cold feet about playing a sheep. Good on Alfie for comforting her.

Caitlyn, Tia and Jessica are adorable too.

Cuba swings from as sweet as a child could be to being an awkward brat from one situation to another.

I watched episode 3 and 4 again today to see lovely little George, Alfie and Emily.

I need to watch the nativity episode again tho.

It was nice to see so much of Jayda's personality this time round, saw very little of her in the program about her group, apart from coaching the girl who got cold feet on stage.

Still a bit mystified as to what happened to Elvin, maybe because he fluffed his line?

Bugger, set me off again, just thinking about it...

Edit: Once a year is plenty for a series like this, a fair bit of work must go into selecting the right type of children, those with the right language skills to express themselves.
You couldn't have a room of Tyler's off driving buses ignoring each other.
This group came from all over the country.

I saw him looking at the audience and I think he became fearful. Unless everyone is smiling it can seem a bit daunting.

I was a bit of a latecomer to this, just catching it whilst flicking around he channels one evening and getting hoked !

So I probably only saw the last series, though I remember the Nativity and that one where they met up in some camp in the woods ?

I'm looking forward to this tonight.........the kids seem very young though at 4 years, I think I only caught the last lot when they were about 6

This is superb television and should be watched by anyone interested in what makes children 'tick'!
Even at the tender age of 4 you can see quite clearly what the individuals will be like as adults.
The confident almost guaranteed successful ones, the shy ones and the ones who are basically too nice to suceed in this very tough world.
Am looking forward to this new series very much.

I have watched all of them and have to say the 4 year olds are by far my favourite. Absolutely brutal.

You wonder how we ever get past the age of four.

Great tv.
