Awww, little Layton when he 'whispered' and didn't get the megaphone. Broke my heart. Sweet Taysia sitting with him but I have to say Enzo was my favourite.
Kahana? Could only think of Kurt Cobain and the ladybird bit just made it worse. |

Love this programme, and I particularly loved Enzo, what a little star, clever little boy, I bet his mummy and daddy are proud of him.

It must complicate the little blond lad's life and that of his family, when he already struggles with speech, if his hairstyle makes him look more like a girl and his name doesn't point to his gender in the culture he lives in. (I'm guessing they are New Zealanders?)
I did wonder if maybe the family passed the audition only because of his distinctive look. Like the truly horrible bully in an earlier series must have got in only because he was a truly horrible bully, but the parents didn't seem to grasp this. The bottom line is it has to be "good TV". The twin boys who look more like typical four-year-old boys have scarcely featured. I thought the way twins interact would have attracted more attention from the experts. |

I'm from Wales but I'm not a whale 😀
Knock knock Who's there? Europe Europe who? Did u just call me a poo? 😳 Well Ive found my mental age comedy wise! Love this show, fascinating stuff I wonder if kahanas speech issue is not just delayed development but connected to his hearing? That ladybird incident was 😱 Especially with the "I feel happy now" after it. 5 year olds next |

Kahana's speech impediment is a curiosity and it's a fasctinating contrast with someone very aritculate and outspoken like Enzo or a proud, cheerful speaker like Taysia.
The Twins, Sam and Not Sam were also fun to watch. Though they weren't prominent, some of the background stuff they got up to was hilarious such as the vehicle building task where one twin as helping out whilst the other one was nonchalantly fooling around in the background, trying on hats. . |

The bit where he managed to get the other kids to listen to him despite his speech impediment, is probably the thing you were supposed to 'get'. The experts aren't just chapping their gums. I'm guessing the bully is a reference to Chaim, he wasn't a bully, he just hadn't learnt to control himself, he sees, he wants, he takes, he was the same 'bully' reduced to tears by his little Sister when she took something from him. Won't bother going through the Chaim thing again, some of us disagreed with the bully tag he got at the time. Anyway, I really, really enjoy these shows, alternated between crying and laughing last night and I only caught the last half hour. |

But didn't he regret it soon after? It was a fascinating insight how someone can be so quickly led to do something out of character. He was then sitting down looking quite upset saying he felt sad. Kahana on the other hand, skipping off saying he was now happy.

Yes these shows are a good insight into child psychology but as per the norm it's just open season to pass judgment on the parents.
Edit: I must say if I was the parent of the 'shoe loser' I'd both proud and worried, I'd really like to see that play out in real time, with all the kids running around at her behest, she had some nerve to carry that off. Thinking about it, and the confession, now makes me smile. |

He just came across as spoilt to me, i.e. used to getting his own way.
Yes a steep learning curve for Daisy. ![]() It really is bad parenting with some of them. |

Not intentionally but I guess cossetting your child too much can lead to them being spoilt.
I work in a shop and the children run rings around the parents and they let them!! |

I mean that parents cannot be bothered to teach their children respect or to behave. The same with dog owners who let their dogs run riot rather than train them.

I'm a week behind, but enjoying this year's programmes much less than previously. My daughter teaches kids this age and it's a window of sorts into that world, but it's being spoiled by the TV edit trying to create a soap opera with too much "who's going to marry who" stuff. There must be more to play than that, surely?
And little wonder the one lad comes across as such a little horror when his 25-going-on-16 mother seemed to see him as an equal partner at home. Although again, maybe it's just crafty editing. Parents are playing with fire by signing up for this, their narcissism is ripe for exploitation. I'll exempt Daisy's parents, they are doing a public service by showing some of the obstacles she has to deal with. |

Previous episodes have enchanted me but the last two have left me cold and have seemed more staged. I would like to see more of the quieter children instead of the constant dramas. Watching any young children at play can be naturally fascinating, I fear that this programme is going the way of all reality programmes in that the format is being more heavily manipulated. I hope I'm wrong. |

Well Jude's parents must have had words with him since a preview clip (shown at the end of this episode) shows Jude clapping his hands when someone else won! Result!

Seems it was down to the teacher to put him right. What is wrong with parents? It took one chat and Jude was a changed child.
