ABBA's Greatest Hits has currently spent 985 weeks in the album chart. Is this the longest time a non-consecutive album has spent in the album chart?

it Could be. The Dark Side Of The Moon is one of the top sellers and has been 741 weeks on chart. Queens Greatest Hits has spent 510 weeks on chart.

The page you linked to says 985 weeks but the actual entry for Greatest Hits says something like only 475, so which is correct?

Interesting to see Bob Marley's 'Legend' is so high up, if you're ever on 'Pointless' and this category comes up, it'd be worth a punt...

1)... The Official Chart Company's 985 Top 200 Chart Weeks for ABBA Gold is too low.

2)... They only start counting from when they took over the UK Charts in February 1994.
But ABBA Gold, (1992), had been in the Top 200 for 71 Weeks before then

3)... It has really spent 1056 Weeks in the Top 200 -- (985 + 71 = 1056)

4)... Its 1056 Top 200 Weeks are not the most by any Album. It is beaten by 2 other
Albums. Greatest Hits by Queen, (1981), has over 1200 Top 200 Weeks, & Legend
by Bob Marley & The Wailers, (1984), has 1123 Top 200 Weeks

5)... The UK Charts Company give ABBA Gold 476 Chart Weeks in its ABBA Section
because they only count Top 75 Weeks in each Act's Hit Albums List. (Except for the
period of W/E 8th August 1981 to W/E 7th January 1989 when the entire Top 100 was
counted)

BELOW -- I've compiled several Lists to show the 6 Albums that have spent the longest
in the UK Album Chart. As you can see, ABBA Gold has more Top 75 Weeks, and more
Top 100 Weeks than any other Album.

Since their new-look changes to their website, OCC have got the stats wrong yet again. It's now saying Abba's Greatest Hits (Gold) has spent 700 weeks in the top 100. So that's 256 weeks gone...
