HH5 Firmware 4.7.5.1.83.8.204

Just noticed mine has updated to this, anyone noticed any differences with it?

My HH5 has always been great, good WiFi and only reboots once every 2 weeks when BT seem to force it to do so. Hope this firmware doesnt knacker it up.

One problem I've noticed is if I use my Android tablet (Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 edition) to go into the advanced settings it crashes the hub. No such problem on my PC.

One MAJOR difference is that my line speed - as reported by the diagnostic page - has been 35000 (exactly) - on Infinity 1. Previously this used to be ~39999 as expected by the product. I keep meaning to contact them to ask about this.

Generally the HH5 seems to have lockups when streaming at high data rates (iPlayer for example) on the 5Ghz WiFi band - especially noticeable with Apple devices such as iPads. Firmware ...204 does not seem to have cured this.

I've noticed that my Home Hub 5 hasn't lost its sync for about 1-2 weeks now. I've had a stable connection for a while. I'll be very pleased with the service if this continues.

Mines not changed.

6. Data rate: 20000 / 79995

Although my maximum data rate is about 10% lower than is used to be.

7. Maximum data rate: 31340 / 104947

Looks OK to me - you are getting 40Mbps download - which is as specified for Infinity 1

6. Data rate: 7476 / 40000

I believe the next line says what the line could do. So, even if you upgraded to Infinity 2, you would get no more than 54Mbps

7. Maximum data rate: 7678 / 54873

Apparently mine updated on 15th Jan. I didn't notice and haven't noticed any difference.

Are there any?

Mine has been rock solid since I installed it 8 months ago.

I have, as I said, been rather disappointed in the HH5 - especially after all the advertising that BT gave it!

To me a major issue is that I find that data connections on its 5GHz WiFi band seem FAR more unstable (and prone to lock-ups!!) than ones on its 2.5GHz band. This is most obvious on intensive streaming - iPlayer for example.

I've been having nothing but problems with the update since it was rolled out.

Despite their use of the word 'small' its clearly more than a few affected

Mine has started dropping WiFi, which in turn a minute or so later causes a re-boot. Seems to happen about every 24 hours or so. Very annoying.

Lets hope they fix it soon.

I've not noticed owt mate, still the same fortnightly resync for me but other than that rock solid and the WiFi shows no change.
