Bump! Any more stories?
My wife went to a Jamie Oliver booksigning and he was desperately impatient and arrogant.
Delia was very pleasant, as was Ian Botham

Ricky Whittle (Hollyoaks) - rude, up himself

Colleen Rooney - lovely and chatty with everybody even though you could tell she was in a rush

Amanda Holden - was really surprised that she stopped and chatted with people for a while, happy to take photos etc

I mentioned this on a DS forum thread (similar to this one) a couple of months ago and it turned out that one of Shayler's best mates was online and took issue with my comments on his friend.

No doubt there'll be further repercussions from this post ....

EDIT: I used to work for a stockbroker where I had the misfortune to deal with the ultra-obnoxious TV reporter Peter Jay. Pete, if you're a forum member here you can kiss my @rse!
If it's any consolisation Shayler has severely lost the plot these days - I read Jon Ronson's book "The Pyschopath Test" a few months ago and there's a whole chapter devoted to Shayler's descent into madness. He is not a well guy and you can console yourself he's more pathetic than scary.

I was just thinking the title of this thread would be improved if it were changed to "Rude and Ignorant Celebrity Scum".

Years ago a friend of mine was dancing with a big, redheaded Irish girl he was very fond of, at some event where Tony Blackburn was present. The Irish girl got a bit overexcited at seeing a celeb and rather loudly said:

- There’s Tony Blackburn!

as he passed by. He looked a bit irritated by this and so my friend apologised to him, explaining she hadn’t meant to embarrass him in any way, etc. But Tony wouldn’t accept the apology, saying instead:

- She’s a boring lady. I just think she’s a boring lady.

The rest of the conversation went as follows:

- Well I think you’re a c*nt.
- You can’t say that to me.
- Yes I can. You’re a c*nt. Now f*ck off!

priceless.
That's very close to that old line, 'Well, that's enough about you-now let's talk about me!'

Celebs who I'd describe as rude:

- Aled Jones
- Owen Money (Welsh 'entertainer')
- Tommy Boyd (ex-Magpie, Children's TV, radio)

All three are horrid people in real life.

Could you not have explained why you think they were rude for?

I bumped into Lauren Goodger last Dec and she was very rude and sort of snotty looking down her nose at my friend who asked for a pic with her she said "i dont dooo fan pics" looked at my friend like she was dirt and stormed off :/ Reality stars i feel are far more up their own ass than genuine celebs actors like Tom Cruise who spend hours outside premieres with their fans talking on phones and having pics taken etc.

This is one of the more shameful aspects of modern life. That talentless nobodies float around thinking they have fans.

Sure. I've met Jones in a personal capacity and he's frequently rude to members of the production teams he works with. He also messed a choir about who I'm connected with. He was wanted as a guest soloist and kept upping the fee he wanted every time a phone call was put in.

I first met Owen Money as a child when I held a door open for him and he didn't even say 'thank you'. Years later I worked in the same building as him and he was frequently obnoxious to people.

I've had personal dealings with Tommy Boyd - he's rude, and isn't popular with many of his colleagues at the places he's worked in. Some of his business dealings aren't consistent with my moral code, shall we say.

Is that the same Tommy Boyd who used to do CITV a long time ago? He was an idiot, always saying and doing awful childish things which left me as a child cringing!

How do you know it's REALLY her? Kitty Brucknell apparently has one too but again can't tell if it's her.

I've watched X-Factor many a times and I can't really remember a Rowena.

(Chas & Dave are lovely too!)
I thought Oasis were meant to be super nasty arogant people? That's how they came across in general.

My brother went to see them in concert and he said he saw a man reaching over the barrier to get as close as he could with his hand stretched out and one of them just done the "w*****r hand signal" to him.

The cinema was quite small and there were allocated seats and it was a sell out.

Anyway to cut a long story short, they had to climb over a row full of people to get to their seats. Mrs Tarrant went berserk even though it was her fault that they were late and proceeded to scream abuse at me. He just stood there and looked stupid.
Didn't Mr Tarrent cheat on his wife a few years back?

I think I can see why now.

You didn't say what sort of a person Bob Monkhouse was? I'd love to know.

I thought Aled Jones was a Christian and all that, as such he wouldn't want to act unchristian, if you get what I mean.

People with "goody-two-shoes" images can be the most unpleasant people in reality. And "nasty" rockers like Oasis often turn out to be the nicest people.

Thanks for the summary, realwales. I've heard rumours about Aled Jones and Tommy Boyd before. What, precisely gives these people a reason to be rude and obnoxious to others I'll never know. They're just doing a job. Because they're in the public eye (and often get paid well for it), it doesn't make them a more 'special' individual than the next person. Having said that, there are plenty of non-celebs who are rude and obnoxious....and they often wonder why it backfires on them.

As I've said in this thread or the other one in Showbiz ('Nice and Not So Nice .....), I tend to believe the more consistent rumours, rather than the 'one-off' encounters people have, 'cause everyone can have a bad day or, alternatively, their actions can be misinterpreted in the heat of the moment (i.e. 'blanking' people).
