also does amazon prime offer streaming of true 4khd films or just up scaled to 4khd?

I might just try the free 30 day trial and check if it works on samsung

As far as I know the app is only compatible on Sony TV's at present, Samsung, LG and Panasonic models to be added during 2015.

I'd wait until there is an announcement before starting the trial. When your TV has the app only then will you be able to view native 4k content on Prime.

Content advertised as 4k will be 4k, any 1080 content will naturally be upscaled by your TV.

Depending on model, Panasonic have added Netflix to 4K via Firmware update

They have, but compared to the 4K demo footage we have the Netflix 4K content is a very poor imitation. Doesn't really wow anyone at all that we've shown it to. We've cancelled the subscription we had for it as it did nothing to sell the sets.

I'm assuming you are referring to a store here? If so, do you have high speed fibre connection to show streaming 4k, if not and speeds are low, output resolution could be as low as 480p.

I've seen to clips of Netflix 4k, Marco Polo and House of Cards, both had excellent 4k definition, very close to 4k demo material.

Yeah we have Infinity here and even with a normal speed of 36mb+ the resolution fluctuates.
Normally it did run on the full 4K mode, but switching back to the demo content is/was a massive jump in pq. House of cards was not special at all. That was my view and that of other staff members and customers seeing for themselves. It was definitely better than broadcast HD TV but that's about all I would say. Would like to see the same thing running from a good Blu-Ray instead as a comparison.

LG updated a week or to ago. If you have a 4K set there is a UHD tile.

Loads more UHD content on Amazon compared to Netflix.

Your post prompted me to contact Panasonic as I've been interested in the 65AX902 since December, but decided to wait until it had the update before making the purchase, they have returned my call and informed me they have got the update - time to replace my nearly 10yr old plasma.
