Can Fifth Harmony Take Over The World?
Musick1

Firstly I want to say that I'm a fan of 5H, their debut album 'Reflection' is incredibly strong and deserves to be a success.

They've released numerous singles over the past two years - Miss Movin On, Boss, Sledgehammer but none of them have set the charts on fire. To be fair they're pretty decent pop tunes judging by today's standards, so why have they failed to make an impact?

'Reflection' has some great Pop/RnB/Radio Friendly tracks: Top Down, This Is How We Roll, Like Mariah & Worth It all have potential to be Top 10 tracks .... So, where it all going wrong for them?

How have they failed to crack the worldwide market?

I'm not hating on these girls as I said I'm a fan but I'm just being realistic - if Rihanna released anyone of the above songs then they'd be hits at this point.

Will 5H ever "take over the world" or will they have to settle for mild success in America?

They remind me a bit of "En Vogue" (who I thought were better) and other "girl groups" they come and go..

Their X Factor performance wouldn't have helped them much over here. They will probably 'settle' for a US career.

They deserve to be hugely successful. They are fantastic. I haven't liked a US girlband since PCD.

Mediocre voices, mediocre songs, not stereotypically pretty, they'll fade into obscurity soon enough.

they have potential .... currently they are building on the current print of 'Little mix' but with a nod to the american pop scence (selena gomez devi lovato) and US pop rnb. I suspect that their album may go to number 1

You're kidding me, a Saturdays fan accusing another girl group (who can actually sing) of having mediocre voices?

Yeah, The Saturdays, at least 3 of them, have strong voices and are all easily recognizable, I can barely tell Fifth Harmony apart.

I prefer Little Mix but Reflection was such a surprisingly strong debut and I hope they make a success of things.

They can hardly chart, let alone take over the world. They'll be dropped next year.

Likely because of the genre they are in
R&B simply doesn't sell a lot, unless your Beyonce

No. We already have the biggest girl group now. Lm went 4 while 5h went 5 in their own country...

GRL stood more of a chance I feel. Though I can't see that happening without Simone .

I love fifth harmony's album though! I doubt it will sell well at all here , probably through lack of promo no doubt

Where an album peak is irelevant

Plus LM and 5H are so different, I don't know why they are being thrown together
Apart from the fact they are women whose music varies between pop & R&b

Fifth Harmonys look as a band remind me of the Wanted in that they look like 5 random people shoved in black and put together as a group but they look so odd and mismatched

I really dont think 5H are good singers - they're all a bit screechy for me, I don't think they look great or are very attractive-and before people have a go looks are important in music too even Beyonce wouldn't sell well if she looked like a bulldog chewing a wasp.

Their music is really bland I think and its clear they dont know what direction to go in and there songs could be anybody. they aren't distinctive or have a stand out sound...that aside boss was quite good.

They have great backing by Simon and their label that they won't be allowed to fail until he gets bored. They've done relatively well in the US so far, it's a bit lacklustre worldwide, I think they'll get another album though after this.

I love my girl groups but I have to admit there's something off with 5H for me, they're pretty much the only girl group I haven't liked, I agree with the poster that says they're very mismatched, I don't necessarily think they blend well together vocally either. They do come across as five solo singers waiting for their opportunity to go it alone to me. I think as long as they get the songs right they will do well though, they obviously have a very strong dedicated fanbase in the US.

Going forwards I'm really interested in GRL, they have the makings of a worldwide chart topping group, I just hope things will still work out for them.

They might get more popular when they stop singing about sex..

I like 5h/LM/GRL/nj etc for various reasons. But I don't think any of them have that ability to take over the word like DC/PCD/spice could...

It's just... I don't think it helps that all these new girl groups are signed by Sony music. Sony might be huge but, how can they dedicate to just one girl group becoming big?

Never heard of them, but I think I'd send them out to have a crack at Islamic State before taking over the world.
