Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro

Is it the norm for my tablet to be scanning all the time even though im connected. Got a Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro im running 4.4.2. Ive tried going into the advanced part and disabled scanning always available by unticking the box. I go back to look at my connection and it says connected by then at the top it says scanning. Anything else i can do.

As far as I know the scanning always available means it will scan for wifi networks even if wifi is off, if you have wifi on then it has to scan to detect the one you are using.

On my Sony Z2 it says this under Scanning always available "Let Google's location service & other apps scan for networks even if wifi is turned off"

So if scanning always available is turned off you will only see it say scanning when you enter the wifi settings as it has to scan for your & surrounding wifi networks. In other words nothing to worry about

there is also the option to turn scanning off for open networks.

normally if u go to the wifi settings and look for the ":" symbol (dependant on android version)

then go to "advanced" and look for something similar to "network notification" and untick it.
