An online amazon item was purchased by a friend and on the day of order, it said that it will be delivered 'late' next week.

She was away from this address this week, and will be away early next week.

But according to her Amazon emails, and tracking the item has been delivered early yesterday on friday.

But she was not in that day, and wasn't even near her place but according to her emails, and Amazon logistics tracking, they say it has been delivered.

This is what it says:

Parcel was handed to resident
The parcel was delivered to (their name).

So it has been delivered earlier than they stated on the date of the purchase,
but their online tracking say "handed to resident" which couldn't have happened, as she wasn't there that day.

She is away for some weeks from that area too,

Did the driver leave it there, without taking a signature ?

Has this kind of thing happened to do with an Amazon order ?

What is their customer service telephone line?

Can they track it, by checking with the drive who delivered it?

Just checking what to advise her, if any of you are regular online Amazon shoppers.

Thank you in advance for your answers

Amazon Logistics from experience is when they use local couriers.. Not your DPD, Parcelforce etc.

I had something similar to this with Amazon - the tracking said that the parcel has been put the the letterbox but when I got home there was nothing there. When I contacted Amazon they said that sometimes the drivers mark a parcel as delivered but they may not actually deliver it until the following day Very useful! LOL

It's so they get paid as they are paid on a per delivery/parcel basis.

Just admit you've stolen your 'friend's' Amazon order.

I find anything from amazon them self to have good service, but don't feel that well protected when using Marketplace, it's a lottery when getting your money back on returning goods, totally down to the honesty of the seller to refund you unless you pay for recorded delivery which is often more then the goods are worth.

Don't get me started on Amazon Logistics, they are by the far the worst delivery service l have every encountered.

I have complained countless time to Amazon Customer Services about them.

I don't think a phone is involved, as the thread was originally in GD. Not sure how it ended up here rather than advice.

Amazon Logistics ironically isn't their own delivery company. It could be any company. Probably D Turpin deliveries

The twist is that the staff and delivery vans belong to local and regional businesses, not Amazon. The company simply provides the technology and logistics, as the name of the business suggests, and acts as a platform for other delivery firms.

The problem for Royal Mail is that in the past these delivery firms, some of which only employ a handful of people, would never have been able to work with Amazon.

In total, 45 delivery firms are working with Amazon. The US retailer declines to publicly reveal what proportion of its products are delivered through Amazon Logistics, but it is understood to reach close to 50pc some weeks.

Your telegraph link doesn't work btw.
I've just had this with another courier (not Amazon). Report it, in writing, to Amazon as they need to investigate.
