So after 4 rounds, your Favourite Hollyoaks Character 2015 will start to be revealed. But before we get to the top 10 as just ranked by you, we will count down the 47 characters that were included this year.

Last year there were 50 characters, this year there are 47, with 2 re-entries and 9 new entries.

Last year Nancy retook the crown, with Sienna in 2nd place and Cindy in 3rd. However this year neither Nancy nor Sienna made the final and therefore we will have a new winner!!!

Note the characters will be posted 1 by 1 with a bit of commentary – don’t take it to heart if you like a character and I don’t. Also included will be where the character was in last years rankings in brackets – so you can see if the character has risen or fallen year on year

Ok so kicking off the 2015 results is...

47 [46] = Lucas Hay = 4.67% (Round 1)
Ranking History (X-X-X-46-47)
Joining the likes of Vincent Elega, Jim McGinn, Dirk Savage and Liberty Savage is Lucas who drops a place to become the lowest ranked character of 2015. He'd probably do a heck of a lot better the older he gets and the more involved he is in storylines. As it seems unlikely Ste is going to leave anytime soon I guess he has the potential for a gain at some point in the future.

46 [20] = Freddie Roscoe = 4.80% (Round 1)

Last year Freddie debuted in the top 20, this year he takes a massive drop down. Despite constant ramming down out throats with endless storylines, it seems that familiarity breeds hate in the case of Freddie who's acting abilities can be reduced to one simple similie . The show got everyone's hopes up during the naffest siege plot when it looked like Freddie was going to die. Unfortunately Hollyoaks viewers aren't that lucky and instead Freddie survived and embarked on an affair with Lindsey.

As if My Dirk finished bottom one year.

45 [RE] = Will Savage = 5.53% (Round 1)

Next up the first of two re-entries this year is Will who manages to debut in the bottom 3. I don't think Will was on anyone's list of people you'd like to see return to the show. The character had pretty much turned into a bit of a joke and a Silas Blisset tribute act. His return marked the exit of Dodger from the show and also saw Will become the second victim of the hospital killer. I don't think anyone was really that gutted that Will has been killed off as it means he will no longer be able to return.

44 [NE] = Dr Charles S'avage = 5.60% (Round 1)
Ranking History (X-X-X-X-44)
Dr S'avage is the next character to place and in doing so becomes the lowest new entry this year. Charles was introduced during the naffest siege plot and was revealed to be Dennis' father. Dennis subsequently exited the show just as his family was explored a bit more. I'm guessing Dr S'avage will feature a lot more throughout 2015 as the hospital killer plotline ramps up.

back in 2012 he did... but then he was new and not very well used... and at the time the Savages were pretty much loathed

43 [NE] = Nico Blake = 5.73% (Round 1)
Ranking History (X-X-X-X-43)
Another new entry next as Nico debuts just inside the bottom 5; she was introduced as Sienna's long lost daughter and then revealed that her father is Sienna's twin Dodger. Nothing like a sensationalist Kirkwood plot for a back story. For me the actress playing Nico is simply weak and introduced at a time when the show is clearly trying to prolong the Blake's time on the show despite both Sienna and Patrick becoming fairly repetitive and overused. I've no doubt Nico will feature heavily throughout 2015, no doubt caught up in the kidnapping plots of her mother and grandfather.

42 [NE] = Rick Spencer = 6.55% (Round 1)

Rick just makes the cut this year as he was killed off on New Years Day, becoming the first victim of the hospital killer storyline. Rick was mixed up with supplying drugs for Nancy/ dodgy dealings with Trevor and also revealed some unpleasant colours in Jason body dysforia storyline. To be honest I don't think the show really lost anything when the character was killed off.

41 [47] = Charlie Dean = 6.71% (Round 1)

Charlie is the first character to take a rise this year and possibly due to the fact that there are worst characters out there climbs six places. Charlie hasn't been too majorly featured and again like Lucas may make more of an impact in future the older he gets.

40 [45] = Peri Lomax = 7.10% (Round 1)
Ranking History (X-X-X-45-40)
Peri takes a climb up the rankings this year and into the top 40; she's had a pretty messed up year to be honest. She's found out her sister is her mum, the people she thought were here parents were killed by her dad and she's also started a relationship with Tom. Personally I find the character to be a bit irritating, but maybe as she grows and develops I'll warm to her more.

39 [12] = Lindsey Butterfield = 7.43% (Round 1)

Last year Lindsey was the highest new entry, this year she completely dives down the rankings and becomes the biggest faller of 2015. For me the character was good until she caved in and got together with Freddie... that siege has a lot to answer for. Whether the character will become more popular when she is given more to do other than act against one expression is anyone's guess but hopefully 2015 will see Lindsey get a little more to do especially since they've extended her family by bringing in Kim.

38 [23] = Sandy Roscoe = 8.06% (Round 1)

Sandy also takes a big hit in the rankings this year; but I guess that's because the character departed and then later returned before departing once more. I think everyone was hoping from a lot more of Sandy when Gillian Taylforth was announced to be joining the soap. Especially given her soap legacy in Kathy Beale, however what we got was a fairly uninteresting, underused character that never showed their true potential. It's a shame really how things went, but maybe Sandy will return once more and do something...

37 [NE] = Dylan Jenkins = 8.19% (Round 1)
Ranking History (X-X-X-X-37)
Considering Dylan had been in the show for a week (or just a couple of episodes), he doesn't do too badly in debuting inside the top 40 and beating some long staying characters. His arrival as Trevor's son certainly has added a new dimension to both him and Grace and it will be interesting to see how that develops throughout 2015.

36 [35] = Leah Barnes = 8.92% (Round 1)
Ranking History (X-X-X-35-36)
Leah drops a place down the rankings, however remains highest out of the kids that are included. She's shown in the past great potential and I think if she is used more (like the other kids), she would gain more of an impact. Like Lucas I can't see Ste leaving anytime soon which means Leah should feature more the older she gets.

35 [NE] = Lockie Campbell = 8.93% (Round 1)
Ranking History (X-X-X-X-35)
So Lockie was introduced to the show as Cameron's brother and in the twisted coincidental world of soap he is also revealed to be engaged to Porsche McQueen and be Ste's resident drug dealer. Also bisexual to boot, Lockie ticks all the Kirkwood boxes for a stock character - messed up history, messed up sexuality, into drugs and linked to the McQueens. I think 2015 will see more of Lockie and more of his background revealed.

34 [36] = Theresa McQueen = 8.97% (Round 1)
Ranking History (14-13-37-36-34)
Next up is Theresa who takes a two place rise this year and edges her way slowly back to her former top 15 glory. Theresa exited the show last year after an extremely convoluted plot involving Sonny and her shooting of Calvin several years ago... at a point when I think no one really cared anyone more who actually killed him. Jorgie Porter exited the show to concentrate on Dancing on Ice, where she was eliminated Week 1. I don't think the character will ever be as popular as she once was and for me she is kind of tired and was overused... but then I feel that way about most of the McQueen's to be honest.

33 [NE] = Porsche McQueen = 9.07% (Round 1)

Another McQueen next as Mercedes replacement Porsche debuts at 33, several places below her sister Celine. For me Porsche is basically another bog standard tart with a heart and definite Mercedes Mark 2 with a big of Mitzeee thrown in. When it was announced she was it did for me reek of laziness on behalf of the producers. Hopefully as the character is one screen more we will see more to her than a carbon copy of former glory characters.

32 [19] = Diane O'Connor = 9.27% (Round 1)

Diane takes a tumble down the rankings this year and I guess goes to show what happens when you support a rapist and take a child away from its mother only for the child to then die. We've seen her relationship with Tony take a turbulent end due to his affair with step daughter Sinead, her step son Finn jailed for the rape of John Paul and lately the reveal that one of her children is actual Tegan's, due to Kirkwood's favourite childswap storyline. 2015 will no doubt see the fall out from that and will be interesting to see how that develops/ works itself out.

31 [40] = Ziggy Rosoce = 9.91% (Round 1)

What's this... a Roscoe taking a rise! Ziggy climbs 9 places and just to outside the top 30 this year, his association with Tegan seemingly help him become more likeable. Ziggy is basically the male bike of Hollyoaks and one of the good things to come out of the siege was the unexpected relationship between Ziggy and Tegan. Not all plain sailing though due to Tegan's cancer diagnosis, the reveal regarding Rose and also him sleeping with Leela too. I think Ziggy can be likeable, however it's clear Tegan brings out the best in the character.

30 [NE] = Cameron Campbell = 9.96% (Round 1)
Ranking History (X-X-X-X-30)
Debuting in the top 30 this year is Cameron who was bought into the show during the reveal that Leela was in fact Peri's mum. Upon release from prison Leela's mum and dad were killed during a hit and run accident and it was revealed the driver was Cameron. Obviously this has all come out now in a very twisted way, however off course nobody told the police and instead Cameron made a brief exit from the village. No doubt 2015 will have more surprises for the character what with Cameron's brother now a permanent character and unfinished business with Peri and Leela.

29 [39] = Nana McQueen = 10.44% (Round 1)
Ranking History (X-X-30-39-29)
Nana McQueen takes a 10 place climb to her highest position to date, she was extremely close to making it into round 2, however it wasn't meant to be as Celine took the wildcard spot. Nana is usually used as a comedy character, however last year saw her took on a more serious role during the John Paul storyline in Myra's absence. She's a good, fun character and brilliantly bought to life by Diane Langton, hopefully 2015 will be full of more Nana McQueen one-liners and madness.
