Thanks for all your hard work yohinnchild. I agree that morale for hollyoaks has reached an all time low and I myself missed a round due to the move to the games room. It's a shame as it ls one of my highlights of the year. Sad but true. It does seem that Hollyoaks has plummeted from riding high at the BSA to a show that most avid viewers are turning off from.

As for your last message, it really is a shame and if any of us are hoping for the mods to have a change of heart between now and next year, I think we can forget it. They're coming down hard on the soap forum and I think it's mainly down to ourselves - we've shot ourselves in the foot by moaning about wanting the soaps to have their own sub-forums, so now they're overcompensating by harshly moderating the forum to the point where nobody can have any fun anymore (and I'm not just talking about being allowed to host the competitions on the main board).

The main board is a pretty crap place to 'hang out' now. I don't spend much time there now before deciding to move on, whereas a few months ago they couldn't keep me away.

I can't complain too much about the top 10, I dislike Darren a lot of the time, but I can see why he is so high. I am disappointed that Sienna isn't in the top 10 but again I can see why, hopefully the therapy (that they are ignoring) that she is having will help change her for the better.

I am surprised that Jack and Esther are in the top 10 though, Esther is a good character and she deserves to be in the top 20, but for me she isn't a top 10 character.

I think Jack is only appearing in the top 10 because he is Jack, as he hasn't done anything lately to deserve being so high. He had a couple of episodes stupidly helping Nancy and now he is in jail and before that I think it was the Frankie, Ziggy and Sinead storyline. The only way that Jack is top 10 without actually having a storyline is because he is surviving on his history and the fact that there are a lot worse than him. I am not saying that Jack is a bad character, I like him, but he isn't doing anything.

Celine in the top 20 is great, part of me wants her to be the hospital killer, a sweet character with a dark side, but the other part of me doesn't want her to leave and I want to see a truly nice McQueen.. the other part of me just wants to see her! She has been around a few months and she hasn't had any real focus, just apart of other people's storylines, which means that she must be well liked to get in the top 20 when she has had little focus in the show.

Not surprised that Freddie, Lynsey and Will are so low, surprised that Nico is just as low though, I thought she would be slightly higher.

I am wondering how many people voted for a handful of favourites and then ran out of characters they liked so just voted in order of their least worst, I know I did.

Shame it was moved, as I said used to love doing these (for most of the soaps although Hollyoaks was always my favourite).

Hey! Just been browsing through this - interesting write-ups, as always.

I suspect the lack of participation is down to the crazy "No Fun" modding policy, although pretty much all the posters I used to chat to on the Hollyoaks main thread have also moved on - both from the show and from DS I guess.

But anyway, hurray for lovely twinkly eyed Dodger winning in his final year. One of the last remaining likable characters on the show. Well deserved, sir.

Very surprised Dodger won! Also interesting to compare the rankings from previous years, guess it shows how much BK has changed things for better and worse.

It would be a shame so see this cease to exist as it is a nice and interesting competition, the move to the games room has dented voters and I've forgotten to vote a couple of times although I think the quality of the show has also been reflected in the votes.

I didn't say last year's Top 10 was much better . The reason I stopped watching was due to a lack of characters I liked (and because anyone I did like was ruined) so I'd not be able to even tell you five characters I like anymore! Long gone are the days where I liked everyone bar a handful.

Characters might develop (or have more screentime), or in Nancy's case be the victim of Kirkwood and character assassination, but I remember all too well the limitations of some of these actors! Gradually over the years stronger and more popular characters/actors have left, with hardly any new blood worthy or popular enough to do well, which just bumps up the scores of the mediocre.

Saying that, I enjoy seeing the results so it would be a shame if these types of polls ended.
