Can anyone please help me resolve a problem which has just started this evening.

I have carried out a new auto search which is operating normally but when I go to the epg they are still mixed up.

Two options. If you have any recordings scheduled make a note of what they are so you can recreate them as necessary.

1/ Go into the Edit Channels menu. "Press" the Select All button then "press" Delete. Do this for both TV and radio channels, Then retune.

If that doesn't work try

2/ Go into the Installation menu then select Default Settings. This will zap the box back to out of the box condition but won't delete any recordings on the hard drive. It will go into the initial setup procedure which involves a retune.
