iceland curry dishes

Well I am pleasantly surprised. I bought a couple of their repackaged/new look curry meals the other day and was genuinely surprised at how good the quality, taste and price was.

I had a Chicken Tikka Masala (£1.50) and a couple of days later a Beef Madras (£1.50). Both had generous amounts of meat and the accompanying sauce was delicious.

Much tastier than my local takeaway and a damn site cheaper.

Has anyone else tried the curries from this range, and what did they think.

Iceland curries are not tastier than your local takeaway.

I don't care how low the standard of tour nearest takeaway is - there is no way they are serving worse curries than Iceland ready meals.

What does "repackaged/new look" mean in terms of what they were like previously?

I haven't had an Iceland curry for ages but I remember the ones I had, Tikka and Korma were very nice and very good value for money. I used to like their Chicken Byriani too, which was great for around £1.

Stupid comment. How can you possibly know what their local takeaway is like or what their personal taste is like?

Home made curry dish is the best. It's fresh, flavooursome and with no additives added.

Because it would have to be an exceptionally poor takeaway to be beaten by anything from Iceland. I've had some not great takeaway curries in my time, but they still had a lot more redeeming features than anything bought from a freezer shop.

OP - try Lidl's fresh ones. Similarly priced and they do a great Jalfrezi.

I like Icelands' curries.
I had one of their Butter Chicken curries with their Pilau rice on Saturday.
Lovely
I thought their Beef Rogan Josh was a bit hot though !

If I could make a curry as good as my local Indian i'd agree. But think they've had more practice than me.

But for all we know it could be an exceptionally poor takeaway. They do exist.

Can you still buy Vetsa Curries?

They weren't great but certainly edible.
