Has anyone had problems with the little bit that covers the charging port mine broke off only had it 5 months. It wasn't dropped or miss treated or anything.

I went in to two EE shops one said it would send it away to be analysed but it wouldn't be covered under guarantee or warranty. The other said to contact samsung direct as it's a manufacturer fault so I did.

Samsung said they are covering phones up to 3 months old for this fault but older ones you have to pay for it yourself?

Anyone else had this problem?

Does the little bit covering the charging port provide the protection from water? If so it should be covered by the manufacturer warrenty.

Yes it does that's exactly what it is meant to do now it's broken off. It's very flimsy and poorly designed. I argued with samsung but they said there policy is it will only be fixed on phones up to 3 months old.

As I understand it, the phones are sold as waterproof. I would take it back to wherever you purchased it as it is clearly not fit for purpose.

The S5 supports wireless charging either with a case or add on coil for about £10.

I think the OP is saying the little rubber cover that is used to make the charge point waterproof has broken off and that Samsung will not fix it under warranty. I cannot see how they can refuse.

Yes that is exactly right.

I spoke to a manager at samsung support and they won't fix it

I did mine just over a month ago.

Was a 5min job (take off back cover, remove 1 tiny Phillips screw and pull out port cover - insert new one and reverse process).

The new one looked identical to the old one (said it was genuine on the listing).
