Rumours or anything more substantiated on which cast members over the years have famously not got on.

I did hear that the charactes who played Kathy and Pete Beale never got on, similar Arthur and Pauline (although that seemed to have been rolled back a bit since Wendy's death) and also that Jessie Wallace and Babs Windsor used to regularly clash on set.

Any others?

Peter Dean and Gillian Taylforth famously did not get on. Leslie Grantham wasn't fond of him either.

Allegedly there were clashes between Barbara Windsor and Wendy Richard, especially when the Queen visited the EE set in 2001. Both believed they should have the privilege of escorting Her Maj around the lot. At the time Wendy left the show there was a large cheer squad on here claiming that she was hated by the cast and they were all glad she was leaving. Blatantly untrue, she was clearly adored by the likes of Natalie Cassidy, James Alexandrou and Letitia Dean.

Jessie Wallace clashed with pretty much everyone.
I think that's untrue or at the very least highly exaggerated. It's clear there are plenty of cast members from the 2000-2005 era who got along very well with her including those who had to work most closely with her.

Maggie O'Neill (Suzie Branning) was axed from the show after she fell out with several of her co-stars, including Sam Womack, Diane Parish and Rob Kazinsky.

For some reason I can imagine Hannah Waterman not getting on with a few people.

Apparently Peter Dean used to 'put his tongue in' when they did kissing scenes.
Lesley Grantham apparently used to bang stuff on the bar or make noises or something when Peter Dean said his lines.

Wendy Richard not being very easy to get along with was alluded to in Barbara Windsor and Pam St Clement's 'Back to Ours'. Barbara said she was intimidated shooting her first scene because it was with Wendy. Pam said that quite a few cast members felt like that around her. There was a moment between them and it seemed like there were things that weren't quite being said out loud.

That's very interesting, it must have been bad if it has been brought up again after all this time!

That's very interesting, now you mention it, they aren't on screen much together.

Yep, they did. Babs said she was 'tentative' in an old scene with Wendy, and joked that 'Wendy did that to me', to which Pam joked back, 'I think she did that to a lot of people'.

I'd never noticed that before but I'll certainly look out for their interactions from now on!

Not to speak ill of the dead but Wendy Richard was a bit of a sour puss.

There was a Carry On film shown on ITV this week (Carry On Girls) which had Barbara Windsor and Wendy Richards in. That was in 1973, so I wonder if their paths crossed then and was when the mutual dislike began!

What about Jessie and Perry (Billy) I remember reading in a newspaper expose that they f***** in her hallway and I don't think she was very favourable about his performance either. I'm sure she had dalliance s with other cast members too can't remember who though. Must be awkward on set! No wonder her and Billy share no scenes.
