Is it weird that I would quite like to see and official collaboration between the two?

Agree totally. The old boy is having fun + loves all types of music. Good to see him not afraid to get down with the youngsters!

Given his legacy he's earned the right to do what he likes!

I notice on an American message board that the Beatles, still attract endless comments.
Frankly I could take them or leave them. As for McCartney now, in my opinion, he's another "oldy" who just doesn't know when to give up. Music has moved on. |

Maybe he doesn't want to give up. Maybe he still gets great enjoyment out of performing.
As long as he has that, he should continue. |

I'm not a fan myself but I don't get this "once you're past a certain age you should stop, just by virtue of being past that age per se." Quote:
Music has moved on.
Music has moved on since Mozart. Should orchestras stop playing Mozart? The fact that music has moved on does not in itself say anything. It doesn't say whether it's better worse. Each piece should be judged on its merits.

When paul. Performed with nirvana it was awesome, old people can be so fickle.
