Does anyone know if you get a Smart TV with Freesat which does not have wireless internet built it?

Cheers.

Finding a TV with Freesat might be the harder task. There are TVs with satellite tuners built in but not sure I've seen one that is logo'ed up as Freesat and uses the Freesat EPG.

All TVs that have WiFi will almost certainly also have ethernet so you can go wired or wireless. Just turn the WiFi off if you don't need it.

There have been a considerable number, the first (obviously were Panasonic), Sony did a series for a short time, LG have done them, as have Samsung. Unfortunately it seems rather a secret which sets have Freesat or not, looking for the Freesat logo in a shop is probably the best solution.

Freesat did have a list on their website, but it was always totally inaccurate.

Are they actually Freesat as in they hook into the Freesat EPG or just generic satellite receivers?

My LG telly has a satellite tuner, though it doesn't exactly shout about it, but as far as I can tell (not having access to a dish so having to rely on the manual!) it is just a generic receiver. From the sparse detail in the manual it does not appear to use the Freesat EPG, looks like you only get now-next programme info rather than the full monty 7days or whatever that Freesat offer.

My Panasonic TV (TX 47AS802B) has twin freesat tuners (freetime) and twin DVB-T2 Freeview+ tuners. It will record any two Freesat and Freeview channels in any combination to a usb drive.

Current Panasonic HD TV's with Freesat (Freetime) capability

Anything above from the 740 series upwards from Panasonic have Freesat & Freetime built in. They all have wifi but you don't have to use it. if you are really upset by having it inside it can be disconnected as it's just an internal dongle connected by micro usb inside the case.

Yes, actually Freesat - or I wouldn't have mentioned it

There are even more generic satellite TV's, such as most current Sony sets, but that's because they are pan-european and the satellite side isn't promoted or supported in the UK (and not even mentioned in the instructions).

I have one of these. I think Sony are missing a trick by not adding Freesat support. They jump through hoops to get their TVs to meet Freeview's specifications, it'd be great if they did the same for Freesat (for people who can't have or don't want Freeview).

Of course it'll still work on 28.2e if you want to deal with all the limitations.

(I suppose in an ideal world the UK wouldn't be using a proprietary satellite EPG)

They did a Freesat range a few years back, it was a disaster for them.

I'd pay good money for a freesat / free time tv with twin tuner & built in storage

People say that, but then never do - all such combined TV/PVR's have been disasters for the manufacturers.

Why not buy a Panasonic, pretty close - you just need external storage (which is better anyway).
