It just felt like she was phoning her performance in for a paycheque, and she really didn't seem all that interested in what she was doing. Was that just me who felt it or did others pick up on it?

I think Babs acting has become very hammy since she left in 2010. It's like she's forgotten how to play Peggy!

Yeah agreed. If she comes back she needs to do more than a few scenes (and one ep) IMO
Given that its the 30th I would've thought she'd stick around all week, obviously not unless there's another twist |

Her appearance was pointless and just smacked of 'its our 30th Anniversary, lets have Babs involved', which was strange as Peggy had a geunine reason to return what with Ronnie but instead all we saw was her strange convo with Dot when she invited her to Portugal
I'm sorry but were Peggy and Dot ever that close over the years??,it may have never been a Pauline vs Peggy type realtionship but apart from both being mothers and living on the square together for a number of years we never saw any heartfelt scenes between them. And I can just imagine Grant's reaction at having the local bible bashing gossip coming to stay in his villa. And her scene with Mick was like something from a Children in Need sketch, a bit of an embarrassment. |

She was absolutely embarrassing. Luckily the episode got much better once she scarpered!

I've always had a problem with Peggy. Dreadful acting from BW...they should keep her well away from the show.
I was looking forward to Dot having a scene or two with Charlie or Arthur, not blooming BW.

I didn't think she was any worse than normal. |

Last night Peggy asked Dot to think about coming to live with her. In EE has Dots husband passed away yet or still in a home?

Her appearance was really unnecessary. But I have to admit it was nice to see her. I enjoyed her scenes with Mick and Dot. It was just a nice nod to the past.
With big events like this I don't think it matters too much that it wasn't entirely relevant to the plot. It just adds a sense of occasion. |

I thought she was better this time than the last time in Portugal, which was utter cringe.

I think I read somewhere that she's only back for one episode? So was last night it? Considering the entire week covers just one day, you'd think they could've spread her across a few episodes rather than have her come the whole way from Portugal to confront Dot and stick her head into the Vic. She couldn't have been on the Square for anymore than an hour. I know it's all to do with people's schedules etc. but having a scene with Ronnie and Sharon would've been a lot more meaningful than with a neighbour she only really interacted with across the bar and a bloke who she never met who runs the pub she used to own.

Really felt out of place last night. She was never that close to Dot. The pub scene was bad and she should have had a scene at the hospital with Ronnie.

It was like they inserted Peggy into the episode rather than have stuff for Peggy to come back for. As people have said there was a reason - Ronnie yet they seemed to have decided to have her visit Dot (random!) and then a scene with Mick at the Vic which seemed pointless and out of place just so Danny Dyer could meet Barbara Winsdor.
She didn't help any plot forward at all. Really disappointed. I just hope there is another secret scene for her otherwise what a waste! |
