Best PAYG mobile broadband?
Currently I use the T-Mobile six month net booster which is unlimited browsing and 1gb fair use. It is possible to stream with this but things like I player and Spotify get blocked after the limit.
I did use that EE sim offer for two months - but as that has expired, I am back to square one. What's the best PAYG mobile broadband sim to have? Bear in mind, I can not afford a phone line to be installed in my property and I don't think I would qualify for any contract due to a very poor credit rating. |

I myself think EE is best here is the tariff for ee payg mobile broadband the biggest data allwance as you can see is 10gb for £30 EE payg mobile broadband standard tariff: http://ee.co.uk/content/dam/ee-help/...Ons_301013.pdf http://ee.co.uk/help/mobile-and-home...bile-broadband They also have a tariff called payg home 4gee where you can buy 20gb for £25 see page 5 of the . pdf below i myself have this tariff but you have to call them up to get it changed over to it ignore where it says Hull and Manchester etc that's just the retail shops where you can buy it as i do not live in those areas and am on the payg home 4gee tariff, http://ee.co.uk/content/dam/ee-help/...AYG_101213.pdf http://ee.co.uk/help/add-ons-benefit...lans/home-4gee http://ee.co.uk/help/mobile-and-home...band/home-4gee http://explore.ee.co.uk/manchestermb...tsrc=Affiliate hopes this helps Quote:

No i have not i have not listed them as after the 90 days you can not buy a add on from ee of 6gb that will then last 90days so i did not list them then you have to go with all the messing arounf of phone up and removing the content control bar etc Quote:

Where do these SIMs come from? Do they come with some EE dongle that someone is buying loads of and box-breaking? It'd be great if EE sold these things standalone (though not for their profits)

I would think many might disagree for the savings than can be made. It's only MBB, it's not like the phone number is important, use and bin, buy another, 5 minutes at most every 3 months to configure. |

I would rather pay £25.00 for 20gb with the option to buy more large data add- ons when i used the data up add ons exclusive to home 4gee are 4gb for £10 10gb for £15 or 20gb for £25.00 these add-ons are only available to the home 4gee payg plan not the standard ee mobile broadband plan, YOU need to read my posts buy a ee mobile data sim any one with or without data then call them up then change over to ee home 4gee plan its allot cheaper then what you posted which was 6gb for £14.99 = £2.49 per gig from ebay, EE home 4gee payg plan at 20gb £25.00 =£1.25 almost half the price than what you posted and you only have to call them once to set it up, Quote:
I would suspect they are box broken, but being sold by authorised dealers like ChitterChatter show that EE can't be objecting too much to the practice.
So you'd rather pay £30 for 10GB for only 30 days rather than a couple of minutes to remove content control once every 90 days? I would think many might disagree for the savings than can be made. It's only MBB, it's not like the phone number is important, use and bin, buy another, 5 minutes at most every 3 months to configure. |

Rather than just the expensive options YOU think are suitable, it's probably common sense to give him ALL the relevent info... |

I've plumped for the Three deal - £25 for 7GB. Managed to get a sim in the Three shop today and all topped-up! So far, so good. Plus it's more my usage on average.
Thanks for all your help

Other people who have the T-Mobile six month SIM have said that after you've used the 1GB data allowance for media/downloads, you cannot stream on sites such as YouTube. |

January 2014. I've had no trouble on YT after the limit whatsoever. Set it to the lowest bitrate and they stream well!
Is it this type of T-Mobile SIM or one of the T-Mobile unlimited Web and Walk type SIMs? |

It was one of those ones but it was from the EE shop itself, but was used to buy a phone in late 2013 but unlocked.
People who have one of the T-Mobile SIMs from eBay, told me that after the 1GB monthly data allowance is used up, they get this message when trying to play a YouTube video- "An error has been experienced". |

If it's from the EE shop, I guess your T-Mobile SIM is different then from the ones sold on eBay.

That does come up, but the trick is to refresh and fiddle with the video quality to say 144p. I've watched videos of 20 plus mins on YT using that sim.
For a lot of YT videos, such as music videos, the lowest option to set the video quality is 360p. I guess it only plays certain types of videos then? |

Is that at any time of the day you can do this, or only certain times in the day such as off-peak time?

I was with 3 up until last December when we used to have regular outages with calls. I live in top of the mast, and what is annoying me is, the speed is soooooooo slow. Could this be just an off-day and is there anything I can do?

When I was with 3, the speed was fast pretty much all the time. It rarely went slow. I was on a contract though. I hear that contract customers are considered higher priority than PAYG by the network, which may possibly explain it. What type of connection are you currently getting according to the connection software i.e. HSPA+, etc..? If your using a dongle, have you tried the dongle in another computer so you know if it's an issue with the network? |
